About Un Air de Famille 2026 in Dubai

Un Air de Famille arrives in Dubai this October, with La Troupe de culture emulsion staging the much-loved French comedy at The Junction on Alserkal Avenue. Performances are scheduled for Thursday 22 and Friday 23 October 2026, with the opening night beginning at 19:45.

Written by Agnès Jaoui and Jean-Pierre Bacri, the play is a sharp look at an ordinary family on an evening when nothing goes to plan. It is performed in French, so it is a lovely option for French speakers in the city, and for anyone keen to enjoy some live theatre in the language.

A quick heads-up: the listing currently shows the show as sold out. Ticket holders who cannot attend can exchange their tickets with other fans, so it is worth keeping an eye on the page if you are hoping for a seat.

What to Expect

Every Friday night, the Ménard family gathers at the family-run café. Tonight, everything seems set for an uneventful dinner. Then simmering tensions, awkward missteps and old grudges start to rise to the surface, and the evening spirals out of control.

The Story

Described as a fierce comedy where blood ties become chains, Un Air de Famille follows what happens when unspoken truths finally come out over dinner. Appearances crumble, tempers flare and everyone ends up revealing a little more than they meant to.

The Characters

The play is built around a small group of family members, each with their own baggage. There is the domineering brother, the resigned sister, the withdrawn brother-in-law and the ever-present mother. Most of us will recognise at least one of them from our own family gatherings, which is part of the fun.

The Writers

Agnès Jaoui and Jean-Pierre Bacri wrote the piece, and their writing is known for its cutting precision and biting humour. The result is a portrait of a family that is, in the words of the production, terribly funny and hopelessly human.

The Company

The production is presented by La Troupe de culture emulsion, who bring the play to the stage at The Junction for this short Dubai run.

Key Highlights

  • A French-language comedy by Agnès Jaoui and Jean-Pierre Bacri
  • Presented by La Troupe de culture emulsion
  • Two dates: 22 and 23 October 2026
  • Opening night begins at 19:45
  • Staged at The Junction, Alserkal Avenue, Al Quoz
  • A family dinner, old grudges and plenty of biting humour

The Venue: The Junction

The Junction is located at Unit H72 on Alserkal Avenue, at the corner of 17th Street and 8th Street in Al Quoz. Alserkal Avenue sits in the Al Quoz industrial area, and it is a well-known destination that most Dubai taxi drivers will know.

Because the show is part of a small, two-date run, the setting feels close and personal, which suits a play that takes place around a single family dinner.

Visitor Tips

Getting There

By car, take the Al Manara exit (exit 43) from Sheikh Zayed Road and turn right onto Al Manara Street. Carry on to the first intersection and turn right onto 8th Street. Keep going straight to the roundabout, take the second exit onto 17th Street, and you will find Alserkal Avenue on your left.

By public transport, ride the Dubai Metro Red Line to Noor Bank Station, then hop in a taxi or take a bus for the short drive to Alserkal Avenue. A taxi straight from anywhere in Dubai is also an easy option.

Arrive Early

Give yourself a little extra time to find The Junction within Alserkal Avenue, especially if it is your first visit. Evening traffic around Sheikh Zayed Road can be busy, so leaving early takes the stress out of the journey.

Language

The play is performed in French. If your French is a little rusty, reading a short summary of the plot beforehand can help you follow along and enjoy the jokes.

Tickets

Check your ticket for the date of your performance and any entry details. If you can no longer make it, use the ticket exchange option on Platinumlist so another fan can take your place.

Book Your Tickets

Un Air de Famille is a sharp, warm and very funny night of French theatre, and with only two dates at The Junction, seats have gone fast. Keep an eye on Platinumlist for exchanged tickets and get ready to pull up a chair at the Ménard family table.
