Schedules and prices were checked in October 2026 and can change. Confirm with the club or venue before you go. Run a club or community? Tell us about it.
Finding clubs and communities in the UAE is one of the best ways to feel at home, whether you’ve just moved here or have lived in Dubai for years and want to try something new. This directory brings together run clubs, quiz nights, social groups, creative studios, business networks and attractions we’ve checked, and this guide explains how to use it and how to find the community that suits you.
Every listing above can be filtered by type, emirate and price, so you can quickly narrow things down to, say, free run clubs in Dubai or workshops in Abu Dhabi. Each card shows the usual day and time, a short description and a link to the organiser or venue. We check schedules regularly, but community groups change their routes, meeting points and times often, so we always recommend confirming with the organiser before you go. If you spot something out of date, let us know and we’ll update it.
Run clubs have become one of the most popular ways to meet people in Dubai. Most meet early in the morning or in the evening to avoid the heat, and many are free to join, with routes along the beach, around Dubai Marina, through business districts or in community parks. Pace groups mean beginners are usually welcome, and many clubs finish with coffee, which is often where friendships start. Beyond running, you’ll find cycling groups on the desert tracks at Al Qudra and Nad Al Sheba, open-water swimming, padel, yoga and weekend hiking trips to Hatta and the mountains of the northern emirates. Every autumn, the Dubai Fitness Challenge encourages everyone to be active for 30 minutes a day for 30 days, with free events across the city. Abu Dhabi has its own active scene too, with groups meeting along the Corniche and on Yas Island, while Sharjah’s waterfronts and parks host smaller clubs. See our sports events page for races and fitness events.
Pub quizzes are a midweek tradition here, with regular nights at pubs and bars across Dubai Marina, JLT, Al Barsha and beyond. They’re an easy way to get together with colleagues or friends, and many venues pair the quiz with food and drink deals. Some run themed rounds, music bingo or sports quizzes, and teams are usually small, so it’s easy to turn up with a couple of friends or join another table. Karaoke, board game cafés, dance socials and language exchanges are other good options for a sociable evening. For a bigger night out, our nightlife guide covers bars and clubs, and our comedy listings in the calendar include stand-up nights.
If you’d rather make something, the UAE has a thriving community of pottery, painting, cooking and craft studios. Many offer one-off taster sessions as well as weekly courses, and some run social evenings such as paint-and-sip nights. Regular classes are a great way to meet the same people each week. Book clubs, photography walks, choirs and amateur theatre groups also meet regularly across the UAE, and many welcome new members at the start of the cooler season. Our workshops page goes deeper into how to choose a studio and what to expect.
For career and business connections, chambers of commerce, founder groups and members’ clubs host regular breakfasts, talks and networking evenings. Many welcome guests before you decide whether to join. National associations and community groups are another option, often organising family days, sports leagues and celebrations for national holidays. Our business networking guide explains how the scene works and where to start.
The attractions section of the directory brings together theme parks, museums, wildlife experiences, observation decks and outdoor adventures across the emirates, so you can plan days out alongside your regular clubs and groups. Use the emirate filter to explore beyond your neighbourhood: a day in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah or Ras Al Khaimah is easy from Dubai and can make a refreshing change. For more ideas, see our full attractions guide.

You can find run clubs across Dubai, including along the beaches of Jumeirah and Kite Beach, around Dubai Marina and JLT, and in community parks and business districts. Most meet early in the morning or in the evening to avoid the heat, and many welcome beginners with different pace groups. Our directory lists clubs with their usual meeting days, and you should confirm details with the organiser before you go.
Many run clubs in Dubai are free to join, and some are run by sports brands, cafés or fitness studios as a community activity. Others charge for coached sessions, training plans or race entries. Each listing in our directory shows the price where we know it, but schedules and fees can change, so check with the club before your first session.
Pub quizzes are held across Dubai on weeknights, especially in Dubai Marina, JLT, Al Barsha and the hotel pubs around the city. Many venues pair the quiz with food and drink deals, and teams are usually small, so it is easy to go with a couple of friends. Our directory lists regular quiz nights with their usual days, and you should confirm with the venue before you go.
Joining a regular activity is one of the easiest ways to meet new people in Dubai. Run clubs, quiz nights, pottery or painting courses, sports leagues, volunteering and professional networks all bring you into contact with the same faces each week. Go more than once, introduce yourself to the organiser and follow the group’s chat for socials. Our new to the UAE guide has more ideas.
The Dubai Fitness Challenge is a citywide initiative that encourages everyone to do at least 30 minutes of activity a day for 30 days. It takes place every autumn, with free fitness villages, classes, runs and rides across the city, including large community events on major roads. Many run clubs and fitness groups organise extra sessions during the challenge, so it is a great time to join one.
Tell us about your club, community or regular meet-up through our submission form. Include the name, the emirate and area where you meet, the usual day and time, the price if there is one, and a link to your website or social media. We review every submission and check details before adding a listing, and we update entries when organisers let us know about changes.
