About this event

Chaos Karts Dubai turns go-karting into a live video game inside a 15,000 sq ft arena in Al Quoz, Dubai. Game worlds and tracks are projected onto the floor around your kart using augmented reality, so there are no headsets or screens to wear: you climb in, press the pedal and race through an environment that keeps changing beneath your wheels, for a 20-minute ride.

From Manchester to Al Quoz: The Story of Chaos Karts Dubai

Chaos Karts began in the UK, where the first venue opened in Manchester in September 2023. Dubai became its second location, launching in early 2024 in Al Quoz, the industrial district known for its warehouse venues. The concept has picked up industry recognition along the way: Chaos Karts took first place in the Game On! category of the blooloop Innovation Awards.

In September 2024 the Dubai venue added new racetracks alongside The Cube, an arcade-style zone with head-to-head games, so the line-up has grown since opening day.

How the Augmented Reality Racing Works

Chaos Karts describes itself as a fusion of go-karting and video gaming. Instead of a fixed circuit marked out with tyres and barriers, the track is drawn in light: six projected environments that range from desert landscapes to the cosmos, and that shift as you race. Because everything is projected onto the floor rather than shown in goggles, everyone on the track shares the same game world, which gives it the feel of a multiplayer game you can actually drive.

That also changes who wins. Speed matters, but so does reacting to what the game throws at you, which is why the format suits complete beginners as much as people who already race karts. You do not need to learn the layouts in advance, and no driving licence is needed.

The Cube and Head-to-Head Play

The Cube is the venue’s head-to-head game mode, built for settling rivalries between friends, siblings or colleagues. It gives groups something to do around their race and turns a single session into a small tournament, which is part of why the venue works for birthdays and team outings.

Timings, Height Rules and Who Can Ride

Each ticket covers one 20-minute ride on the karts and track. Allow about an hour at the venue in total for check-in, the safety briefing and the race itself. There is a café on site, though food and drinks are not included in the ticket.

The venue is open between 1pm and 10pm Monday to Thursday, 11am to 11pm on Friday and Saturday, and 11am to 10pm on Sunday. Tickets are valid only for the date and time slot you choose, and they are non-refundable and cannot be changed.

There is no minimum age, but riders must be at least 1.30m tall. Children aged 9 to 16 must be accompanied by someone over 16. The ride is not wheelchair accessible and is not suitable for pregnant women, people with epilepsy, people with back or neck problems, or anyone unable to use both legs and one arm. No dress code is listed.

Getting to Chaos Karts UAE in Al Quoz

Chaos Karts UAE is on 6A Street in Al Quoz. It is an indoor venue, so it works whatever the weather, and it can be reached by bus, by car or by taxi. Al Quoz addresses can be hard to find, so the venue’s map pin is the most reliable way to navigate.

If you are building a day of indoor fun around your race, Air Maniax at Arabian Center has inflatables and adventure challenges for younger thrill-seekers.
