About this event

Dubai Capitals vs Sharjah Warriorz ILT20 2026 in Dubai is a Tuesday night match of DP World ILT20 Season 5 at Dubai International Stadium in Dubai Sports City on 8 December. The Capitals are at home, the Warriorz arrive with a decent record in this fixture, and the gates open at 4:30pm ahead of a 6:30pm start under the stadium’s distinctive ring of lights.

Where the match fits in Season 5

The ILT20 is the Emirates Cricket Board’s franchise T20 league, first played in 2023, with six teams sharing fixtures across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. Season 5 runs from 22 November to 20 December 2026, with a round-robin stage leading into the playoffs. An early December game sits right in the middle of the league phase, when every win counts towards a top-four finish.

Dubai Capitals and Sharjah Warriorz

Dubai Capitals

Dubai Capitals are owned by the GMR Group, one of the co-owners of the Delhi Capitals in the IPL, and Dubai International Stadium is their home ground. They have been one of the league’s strongest sides, finishing runners-up in 2024 when they lost the final to MI Emirates, and then winning the title in 2025, when they beat Desert Vipers by four wickets in the final.

Sharjah Warriorz

Sharjah Warriorz, owned by Capri Global Holdings, are based at Sharjah Cricket Stadium and are still looking for their first ILT20 title. The ticket page notes that the Warriorz have enjoyed success in several previous meetings with the Capitals, which gives the home side something to put right in front of its own supporters. It is also a busy stretch for the Warriorz, who host Abu Dhabi Knight Riders back in Sharjah the very next evening, on 9 December.

Season 5 squads are shaped by the league’s auction and retentions, so follow the teams’ own channels for confirmed line-ups nearer the date.

Dubai International Stadium

Dubai International Stadium opened in 2009 and holds 25,000 spectators, expandable to around 30,000. Its signature feature is the “Ring of Fire”: 350 floodlights set around the rim of its circular roof, which means the ground needs no floodlight towers around it, one reason it stands out from most cricket venues. As well as Dubai Capitals, it is home to Desert Vipers, Gulf Giants and the UAE men’s and women’s national teams.

The stadium has hosted some of the biggest matches played in the region: its first one-day international in 2009 between Pakistan and Australia, the 2018 Asia Cup final, games at the 2022 Asia Cup, the 2020 IPL final between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals, and the final of the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

Match night practicalities

Seating

Dubai International Stadium is the one ILT20 ground with a Platinum Enclosure, which is the only area with allocated seats. Everywhere else is first come, first served, and some seats have restricted views of the pitch, so arriving when the gates open gives you the best choice.

Tickets

Tickets are emailed 48 hours before the match and cannot be collected at the venue. You can print them or show them on your phone, and each ticket allows a single entry. Buyers can purchase up to 10 tickets per match, must be 18 or over, and need a debit or credit card in their own name.

Children and accessibility

Under-fives can enter without a ticket if they sit on an adult’s lap; from age five, a ticket is required, and anyone under 15 must be with an adult at all times. Dedicated wheelchair viewing areas are available through the wheelchair access option when booking, though seats next to companions cannot always be guaranteed. The stadium advises against bringing prams.

Prohibited and restricted items

Alcohol, glass bottles and metal cans (other than those bought at the venue), cigarettes, lighters, fireworks and weapons are not allowed, nor are banners with political, religious, offensive or race-related messages. Food, drinks, flasks, umbrellas, strollers, drones, laser pointers and oversized bags are restricted.

Getting to Dubai Sports City

The stadium is on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road in Dubai Sports City, and parking is available on site. By public transport, take the Metro Red Line to Dubai Internet City station and change to the F34 bus, which serves Dubai Sports City. Taxis are widely available and can drop you at the stadium.
