About this event

Ebru Gündeş Live brings one of Türkiye’s best-loved voices to Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on Friday 15 January 2027, with more than three decades of hits, ballads and fan favourites. Fresh from sold-out shows in Istanbul, she takes the stage on Yas Island at 9pm for an arena night aimed squarely at the many Turkish music fans in the UAE.

Who is Ebru Gündeş?

Ebru Gündeş was born in Istanbul in 1974 and released her debut album, Tanrı Misafiri, in the early 1990s. Her music spans Turkish pop, arabesque, the emotional fantezi style and classical Turkish music, and her powerful, expressive voice made her one of the biggest names in Turkish music by the end of the decade.

Her discography is long, and several albums became landmarks:

  • Sen Allah’ın Bir Lütfusun (1998)
  • Dön Ne Olur (1999), one of the best-selling albums in Türkiye
  • Ahdım Olsun (2001), Şahane (2003) and Bize de Bu Yakışır (2004)
  • Kaçak (2006), Evet (2008) and Beyaz (2011)
  • 13,5 (2012), an album of covers, and Araftayım (2014)
  • Âşık (2019), reported as the best-selling and most-downloaded album in Türkiye on its release day
  • Aşığım Hâlâ (2023)

More recent releases include Sonsuza Dek, a 2022 duet with Murat Boz, and Bir Çift Göz featuring the rapper Norm Ender, which the event listing highlights.

A familiar face on Turkish television

Beyond music, Gündeş has been a constant presence on Turkish TV. She hosted Mega Show and her own programmes, sat on the judging panel of Popstar Alaturka from 2006 to 2008, and was a coach on O Ses Türkiye, the Turkish version of The Voice, from 2013 to 2016 and again from 2021 to 2022. She also acted in the comedy series İmkansız Aşk in 2006. For many viewers, she is as recognisable from television as from the radio.

What to expect at Etihad Arena

The Abu Dhabi show is built around her greatest hits, stirring ballads and fan favourites from across her career. Her songs are about love, heartbreak, hope and resilience, and they are written for singing along, so expect much of the arena to know every word. The set list has not been published, but Gulf News expects it to draw on her whole career, from the best-known hits to songs long-time listeners love.

The Istanbul shows

The Abu Dhabi date follows sold-out concerts in Istanbul as part of her Beraber Söylüyoruz series, which translates as “We Sing Together”. At her Istanbul show on 16 October 2026, she surprised thousands of fans by opening with Dön Ne Olur, the title track of her 1999 album, which Turkish media reported she had not sung on stage in 27 years. Clips of the moment spread widely on social media, and it is a good sign of how personal these concerts have become for her and her audience.

Her stage presence is a large part of the appeal. Gündeş is known for strong vocals and emotional delivery, and an arena-sized room full of people singing back gives that style plenty of space.
