Dubai Quality Performance Lab is a morning workshop in Dubai for people who want to make their organisations run better, not just hear talks about it. Dubai Chambers hosts this first edition on Wednesday 11 November 2026 with the UAE Network of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI), as part of World Quality Week. The session runs between 8:30am and 12:20pm on the 13th floor of the Dubai Chambers building in Deira.
The global theme for World Quality Week 2026 is “Quality: Powering Performance”, which asks how managing and improving quality can deliver better results. The lab is designed to put that idea into practice in a single, focused morning, with exercises rather than keynotes.
A Workshop Built Around a Simulated Company
Most industry events follow a familiar pattern: a stage, a slide deck and a short window for questions. Dubai Quality Performance Lab swaps that for a working session. Attendees are placed in a mock company setting and asked to solve the kind of problems that crop up in real businesses, with experienced facilitators steering each group.
Working inside a simulated organisation is a useful trick. It lets people from different industries tackle the same challenge on equal footing, and it removes the internal politics that can slow change down in a real workplace. Groups look for weak points in how the business performs, identify performance gaps, then rework processes and customer journeys to close them. The aim is to leave with ideas that have measurable outcomes and can be tried back at the office.
Because the lab is a working session, it helps to arrive with a real challenge from your own organisation in mind, so you can connect each exercise to your own processes. As this is the first time the lab has been held, attendees will also be part of its very first edition.
Speakers and Facilitators at Dubai Quality Performance Lab
Dubai Chambers has named ten contributors for the morning. On the quality side, Rashad Issa chairs the CQI’s Board of Trustees. From the consulting world come Dr Jasmina Locke, chief executive of IDSG; Lina Yahya, founder of The Change Cue; Mike Hoff, founder and head of Mike Hoff Consulting (MHC); Atique Muhammad, CEO and lead excellence advisor at Advantix; Kyle T. Lane, founder of Q•UNIQUE Management Consulting; and James Duthie, CEO of Touchpoints Consulting & Communications. Investor and entrepreneur Matteo Boffa completes the outside perspective.
Two in-house leaders bring the view from large UAE organisations: Ola Khader, Senior Vice President heading strategy, excellence, performance and the PMO at Dubai Financial Market, and Ashraf Yaseen, senior manager for business excellence, strategy and growth at AD Ports Group. That mix of consultants, founders and practitioners means each exercise can be tested against both theory and day-to-day reality.
The CQI and World Quality Week
The Chartered Quality Institute is the professional body for quality management. It traces its roots to 1919, received its royal charter in 2006, which allows it to award chartered status to individual quality professionals, and today has around 20,000 members in roughly 100 countries, with its IRCA division handling auditor certification. Its UAE Network brings that community together locally.
World Quality Week runs between 9 and 13 November 2026, with World Quality Day on Thursday 12 November. The CQI has marked a full week rather than a single day since 2021, encouraging organisations around the world to run their own events on the year’s theme. The Dubai Quality Performance Lab is the Dubai Chambers contribution, landing on the Wednesday of the week, the day before World Quality Day itself.
Who Should Attend
The lab will suit quality managers, operations leads, business excellence teams, consultants and business owners who like learning by doing. Team leaders trying to improve how their department works will find it relevant, and anyone hoping to meet others in the UAE quality and excellence community will be in the right room, since the breaks between exercises are a natural time to compare notes.
Registration is required through the “Register Now” form on the Dubai Chambers event page, via the link on this page. The session finishes at 12:20pm, leaving the afternoon clear for the office.
Dubai Chambers, Deira
The workshop takes place at Dubai Chambers on Baniyas Road in Deira, beside Dubai Creek, on the 13th floor. Dubai Chambers traces its origins to the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, founded in 1965, and was reorganised in 2021 into three chambers under one umbrella: the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, the Dubai International Chamber and the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy. Its Deira headquarters hosts a regular programme of business events and workshops.
