The Emirates Dubai Sail Grand Prix brings SailGP back to Dubai on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November 2026, with 13 national teams racing F50 boats on the waters off Mina Rashid. Presented by DP World, it is the penultimate event of the 2026 Rolex SailGP Championship, so every point counts as the season heads for its finale. If you have never watched foiling boats fly past a city skyline, this is a cracking way to spend a November weekend.
About the Emirates Dubai Sail Grand Prix
SailGP is a championship for national teams racing identical F50s, high-performance boats that lift out of the water as they pick up speed. In Dubai, the racing happens close to the shore at Mina Rashid, also known as Port Rashid, with a purpose-built Race Stadium giving spectators a front-row view.
The timing makes this edition especially tense. As the second-to-last stop of the 2026 season, it is the final chance for teams to bank points before the Grand Final, which our earlier listing notes is set for Abu Dhabi. Expect short, sharp races where a single tack can change the standings.
What to Expect at the Race Stadium
The Race Stadium opens at around 13:30 on both days, and racing is due to start at around 15:00. These times are approximate and can shift with the weather or race conditions, which is part of the nature of a wind-powered sport. Beyond the racing, the organisers promise live performances, onshore activities and interactive experiences, so there is plenty to fill the time before the boats line up.
Live commentary and big screens help you follow the tactics out on the water, and food and drink stalls serve locally sourced, sustainable options throughout the day. Official SailGP merchandise is on sale too.
Ways to watch
- Waterfront Grandstand: unreserved stadium seating on a first-come, first-served basis, with Race Stadium access, live commentary and big screens.
- Premium Waterfront Grandstand: new for 2026, with a central seating area, fast-track entry, dedicated premium facilities and a food and drink credit.
- Vela Beach Club: shaded, lounge-style viewing with food and premium drinks included, expert commentary, expedited VIP entry and simulator experiences.
- Accessible tickets: a guaranteed place in the accessible viewing area with level access, with a companion ticket for a carer.
Single-day and weekend options are available for the main ticket types, and groups of 25 or more can enquire through the group sales form.
The Venue: Mina Rashid
At Mina Rashid, the Race Stadium is set up on the waterfront beside the race course, so the boats pass close to the crowd. There is no official event parking, so the organisers encourage public transport, and a taxi drop-off point is available near the stadium. An accessible drop-off close to the stadium is also planned, with details due before the event.
Not every part of the site has level access. Standard grandstand seating involves several steps, ground surfaces are hard and partly uneven, and ramps are provided where needed. Accessible toilets are available, and Event Ambassadors are on hand to help. Questions about access and transport links can go to ticketing@sailgp.com.
Who It Is For
Sports fans looking for something different from a football or cricket weekend will love the speed and spectacle. Families are well catered for as well. Children aged 5 to 17 need a child ticket and must be with an adult at all times, while under 5s enter on an adult’s lap in the grandstand. A family bundle covers two adults and two children, though it cannot be combined with accessible tickets. Buggies and prams are allowed in the Race Stadium, with designated parking areas for unused ones.
The Vela Beach Club and Premium Grandstand suit corporate groups and friends who want extra comfort, while the Waterfront Grandstand is the classic way to soak up the racing.
Visitor Tips
Arrive soon after the stadium opens, since grandstand seats are unreserved and the best spots go first. Each person can bring one small bag up to 30 x 30 cm plus a clutch or purse, and all bags are searched. Leave glass, cans, single-use plastic bottles, portable speakers and umbrellas at home, as none are allowed in the grandstands. Outside food and drink are not permitted, apart from baby food and medical needs, but there are water refill stations inside, so bring an empty reusable bottle. Drones are banned under an air exclusion zone, and re-entry is not allowed once you leave. Tickets are issued in the Fever app around ten days before the event, and screenshots are not accepted.
