Gurukul Utsav 2026 in Dubai

Gurukul Utsav 2026 in Dubai is an afternoon of Indian music, dance and storytelling at GEMS Modern Academy on Saturday 14 November 2026. At its heart is Dashavatar, a musical theatre production by Dr. Pali Chandra and her team of Gurukul artistes and alumni, inviting you into a vibrant world of mythology, music and dance. The programme is presented in Hindi and English.

About Gurukul Utsav in Dubai

Utsav means celebration, and this is very much a celebration of the Gurukul community: its teachers, its current artistes and the alumni who have trained there. The afternoon combines a full musical theatre production with a lecture demonstration and a series of solo performances.

Dashavatar takes its name from the ten incarnations of Vishnu in Hindu mythology, a story with deep roots in Indian dance and music. Here it is retold as musical theatre, bringing mythology, music and movement together on one stage.

The programme runs for about three hours, so settle in for a generous afternoon of performance.

What to Expect

Dashavatar: A Musical Theatre Production

The centrepiece is Dashavatar, created by Dr. Pali Chandra and performed by her team of Gurukul artistes and alumni. Expect mythology told through music and dance.

Lecture Demonstration with Madhu Nataraj and Dr. Pali Chandra

Madhu Nataraj and Dr. Pali Chandra lead a lecture demonstration and also perform. It is a rare chance to hear artists explain their craft before showing it, which makes the performances even richer to watch.

Solo Performances
