When Memories Sing 2026 in Sharjah

عن الفعالية

When Memories Sing 2026 in Sharjah is an Arabic-language musical theatre performance at Expo Centre Sharjah, built around one idea: a journey back to childhood through beloved songs, cherished memories and the magic of the stage. It runs for 90 minutes on a Saturday evening in November, with doors opening at 6:30pm and the show beginning at 7:30pm.

A book of memories, told in song

The production is structured as a succession of songs and scenes that unfold like pages from a book of memories. Rather than a concert with a fixed running order of hits, each song is framed by a scene, so the evening moves from one remembered moment to the next. The organisers promise a star-studded cast, though individual performers are not named on the listing.

The appeal is easy to understand for anyone who grew up with particular songs on the radio, on television or at family gatherings. Hearing them again, staged rather than simply played, is a different experience from listening at home.

Performed in Arabic

When Memories Sing is performed in Arabic, so it is best suited to audiences who are comfortable following the language. For Arabic-speaking families, that is the point: the songs and scenes speak directly to shared memories, and parents can introduce children to music that shaped their own early years.

Photo packages with the artists

An unusual extra for a theatre show is the choice of photo packages with the cast, booked alongside your ticket:

  • Family photo package: one family photo with all the artists.
  • Individual photo with all artists: one photo of you with the full cast.
  • Individual photo with each artist: one photo with each artist separately.

For children who fall for the show, or adults meeting the voices behind songs they love, that keepsake may be the highlight of the evening.

Who it suits

This is a family evening first and foremost. No minimum age is set, but every attendee, whatever their age, needs a valid ticket. Grandparents, parents and children can all come together, each hearing the songs differently. The 90-minute running time keeps it manageable for younger children on a Saturday night.

Doors close early: read this before you go

The most important rule for this show is strict. Doors close half an hour before the performance begins, at 7pm, and no one is admitted after that. The organisers also ask guests to arrive well in advance so entry stays orderly, and note that they are not responsible for congestion in the surrounding streets, so build in extra time for traffic around Al Taawun.

Have a copy of your ticket ready at the door and follow the organisers’ instructions on entry and exit. Tickets can be rescheduled but cannot be refunded or cancelled for any reason. If your ticket has not arrived, Platinumlist can help through WhatsApp or its help centre, and general enquiries are handled through the Sharjah Book Fair ticketing team listed on the event page.
