About this event

The At.mosphere Burj Khalifa Afternoon Tea in Dubai is served on the 122nd floor of the world’s tallest building, in a restaurant often described as the world’s tallest restaurant. The experience runs for two hours, with a three-course afternoon tea or a three-course set lunch served alongside panoramic views over the city.

Afternoon tea starts at 12:30pm, with last arrival at 2:30pm, last food and drink orders at 3pm and the session ending at 3:30pm, which makes it an easy midday treat rather than a late-night commitment. Bookings are made by package, so choose between afternoon tea and lunch before you go.

About At.mosphere Burj Khalifa

At.mosphere is the fine-dining restaurant and lounge on Level 122 of Burj Khalifa. The lounge side is known for coffee, afternoon tea and drinks, while the restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with a modern European focus. The menus feature international and local favourites prepared by its chefs, and the setting is the main draw: on a clear day, the view stretches over Downtown, Sheikh Zayed Road and out towards the Gulf.

The two packages

Premium Afternoon Tea, Sparkling Package

  • A premium three-tier afternoon tea stand served over three courses.
  • One soft drink, plus tea, coffee or water.
  • A half bottle per person of Nyetimber Cuvée Chérie, or an equivalent sparkling wine.

Premium Lunch, Three-Course Set Menu

  • A three-course set lunch.
  • Soft drinks, tea, coffee and water.
  • One glass of red or white wine per person.

Neither package includes unlimited drinks or transfers. Any extras you order beyond the package are paid directly at the restaurant.

Nyetimber, the English sparkling wine house from West Sussex, is one of the best-known names in English fizz, so the afternoon tea package is a nice touch for British visitors in particular.

A seat inside the world’s tallest building

Burj Khalifa opened in 2010 and rises 828 metres above Downtown Dubai, making it the tallest building in the world. Most visitors see the view from the At the Top observation decks on Levels 124, 125 and 148, where you stand at the glass for a while and move on. At.mosphere on Level 122 offers a different way to experience the height: you sit down, the food arrives in courses and the city slowly changes below you as the afternoon goes on. Looking down, you can pick out The Dubai Mall, the Dubai Fountain lake and the grid of Downtown streets, with Business Bay and the Dubai Canal beyond.

What to know before you book

  • Seating is at non-window tables. The views are still part of the experience from inside the room, but a guaranteed window seat is not included.
  • There is no afternoon tea for guests avoiding gluten. Anyone with that requirement is offered lunch in the restaurant instead.
  • The restaurant is non-smoking.
  • Cancellations are accepted without charge up to 24 hours before your booking; late cancellations and no-shows are charged in full.

Dress code

The dress code is smart casual. Men should avoid sports shoes, open shoes, shorts, sandals and sporty outfits. Women should avoid sports shoes, rubber slippers and sporty outfits. If you are combining your visit with a day of sightseeing, it is worth packing a change of shoes.

Who it suits

This is a special-occasion choice: birthdays, anniversaries, a parent’s visit to Dubai or a first trip to the city. It also suits anyone who wants to see the view from Burj Khalifa at a slower pace than a quick observation deck visit, with a seat, a pot of tea and two hours to take it in.

The minimum age is five. Children aged 5 to 10 dine on a consumption basis from the à la carte menu rather than on the package, and the adult category applies from age 11. Families with children under five may find the observation decks a better fit.

For the best light, the cooler months from November to March tend to bring clearer skies, and the midday timing of the afternoon tea means you see the city in full daylight.

Getting there

Guests can access the restaurant directly through the Burj Khalifa Corporate Suites Gate, so allow a little time to find the right entrance rather than heading in through The Dubai Mall.

  • By Metro: take the Red Line to Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall station, then walk a short distance.
  • By car: follow Sheikh Zayed Road, then the Sheikh Zayed Toll Road and Al Mustaqbal Street into Downtown.
  • By taxi: taxis and ride-hailing apps are an easy option.

Traffic around Downtown Dubai can be heavy at weekends and on public holidays, so allow extra travel time, especially as last arrival is 2:30pm.
