About this event

The Dubai Aquarium and Sky Views with Slide combo pairs two neighbouring Downtown Dubai attractions on one ticket: the shark tunnel and Underwater Zoo inside The Dubai Mall, and the glass observatory, glass floor and Glass Slide more than 219 metres up at Address Sky View. Both must be visited on the same day, which turns the ticket into a full day that starts underwater and ends high above the skyline, or the other way round.

Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo in The Dubai Mall

Dubai Aquarium opened inside The Dubai Mall in 2008, on the lower ground level, and it is built around a 10-million-litre tank. Its main viewing panel set a Guinness World Record as the largest acrylic panel. Your ticket takes you inside, through a 48-metre tunnel where sharks and rays swim overhead. The aquarium is home to more than 100 marine species, including tiger sharks and stingrays.

Upstairs, the Underwater Zoo adds a series of themed zones. The listing highlights the Rain Forest and UAE Night Creatures zones, Penguin Cove, which you reach through an underwater tunnel, and King Crocodile. The penguins and the crocodile tend to be the stops children talk about afterwards, so give the zoo as much time as the tank.

Sky Views Dubai: Observatory, Glass Floor and Glass Slide

Sky Views opened in November 2021 across the 52nd and 53rd floors of Address Sky View, the twin-tower hotel on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard. A panoramic glass lift carries you up to more than 219 metres, where the observatory on level 52 looks out over Burj Khalifa, Downtown and Sheikh Zayed Road.

On level 53, a glass floor lets you look straight down at the city. Your ticket also includes one ride on the Glass Slide, a transparent glass tube with a see-through bottom and sides that runs from level 53 down to level 52. Riders use a special mat, and supervisors guide each descent. The slide has a weight range of 30 to 150 kg and a height range of 120 to 200 cm; anyone outside those limits can still enjoy the observatory and the glass floor while the others ride.

The Edge Walk, extra slide rides, food and drinks and transfers are not included in this combo.

Planning a Dubai Aquarium and Sky Views Day

Because both parts must be used on the same day, order matters. Beginning with the aquarium works well: the tunnel and the zoo can take a good while, and The Dubai Mall has plenty of places to stop for lunch before you walk across to Address Sky View. Finishing at Sky Views also means you are up high as the light changes over the city.

Both venues are in the same corner of Downtown. For the aquarium, take the metro to Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall station, follow the air-conditioned link bridge into the mall and head down to LG, or park at The Dubai Mall. For Sky Views, walk the short distance from the mall to the hotel, or use the hotel parking if you drive.

Rules for Families and Dress Code

Children under 2 can enter the aquarium, and children up to 15 must be with an adult. The combo uses an adult category of 8 years and up. Outside food and drink are not allowed, so plan meals at the mall.

Sky Views sets a dress code because of the glass. Wear modest, comfortable clothing; skirts, dresses and high heels are not allowed on the slide, and shoes with sharp metal edges that could scratch the glass should be avoided. Guests must not be under the influence of narcotics, alcohol or medication that affects judgement, and must be free of severe physical or mental conditions that would stop them completing the ride. The ticket cannot be combined with other offers.

Who the Combo Suits

The combo is made for families and first-time visitors who want two of Downtown’s best-known experiences without planning two separate trips. Children get sharks, penguins and a crocodile in the morning and a glass slide in the afternoon; adults get the skyline from the 52nd floor.

If you would rather swap the aquarium for a golden treat, Sky Views with Slide and Gold Menu adds an item from The Gold Collection instead, and Air Maniax at Arabian Center is another indoor favourite with children.
