The evening begins with a welcome reception at Jou Jou Brasserie from 7pm to 8pm, moves into the main celebration from 8pm and continues with an after-party at Mercury Rooftop from 12.30am.

It is the resort’s flagship New Year’s Eve experience, sitting alongside separate dinners at Sea Fu and Shai Salon and a party at Mercury Rooftop. Set on the Jumeirah beachfront, it offers a classic, dressed up way to count down to the new year.

What to expect

The resort’s New Year page lists the following for the celebration:

• A welcome reception at Jou Jou Brasserie, 7pm to 8pm
• The main celebration by the shore from 8pm
• An after-party at Mercury Rooftop from 12.30am
• AED 4,500 per person with alcoholic beverages
• AED 3,100 per person with non-alcoholic beverages
• AED 1,500 per child aged 6 to 12

The resort is offering several other ways to welcome the new year if the full celebration is not quite right for your group. Shai Salon hosts a New Year’s Eve dinner from 5pm to midnight with a minimum spend of AED 1,000 per person from 8pm. Sea Fu offers dinner from 8pm with a minimum spend of AED 3,000 per person, including soft beverages and welcome Champagne, before guests head to the Mercury Rooftop after-party from 12.30am.

Mercury Rooftop is also hosting its own party from 8pm to 4am, with a five course set menu at AED 2,600 per person, a vegetarian set menu at AED 2,200, and cocktail tables with a minimum spend of AED 1,000. The music line up lists a DJ to be confirmed until midnight, followed by DJ ACE.

Taken together, it means the whole resort becomes one large celebration on 31 December, and the By the Shore package gives you access to the reception, the main event and the after-party in one booking.
