About this event

The Global Village and Butterfly Garden combo is a single Dubai booking that covers two very different family outings: an evening among the country pavilions, street food and rides of Global Village, and a daytime visit to the Dubai Butterfly Garden, the vast covered garden where thousands of butterflies fly freely inside climate-controlled domes. Because one opens in the morning and the other in the late afternoon, the pair fits neatly into a single day, or two separate trips.

Global Village Season 31: A More Wonderful World

Global Village opened its 31st season on 14 October 2026 under the theme ‘A More Wonderful World’, and the season is set to run until May 2027. This year there are 29 pavilions representing more than 90 cultures, each selling crafts, clothing and food from its region. Sri Lanka now has a stand-alone pavilion of its own after sharing space with Bangladesh last season, Russia and Azerbaijan have refreshed experiences, and the Syria and Kuwait pavilions have new façades.

Beyond the pavilions, the park lists more than 200 attractions across arcade games, family entertainment and rides, including a new roller coaster and returning favourites such as Dragon Kingdom, The Horror Hotel, Secrets of the Lost City and Exo Planet City. The Festival Wheel is back with refreshed carts, and a new stunt show, Fast Live 2: The Police Strike Back, joins the line-up. Organisers plan around 40,000 shows across the season, and food is a big part of the night, with more than 250 dining options from global street food to sit-down restaurants. The ticket gives access to all the country pavilions, food trucks, the fountain show and The Railway Market and there are fireworks at weekends.

Children can collect stamps in a new Kids Passport, while adults get a redesigned Season 31 Passport. For Season 31 the gates open at 4pm, closing at midnight from Sunday to Wednesday and at 1am from Thursday to Saturday and on public holidays. Tuesdays are reserved for ladies and families, except on official public holidays.

Inside the Dubai Butterfly Garden

The second half of the combo takes you to the Dubai Butterfly Garden, which opened in March 2015 next to Dubai Miracle Garden and is widely described as the world’s largest covered butterfly garden. More than 15,000 butterflies live across 10 custom-built domes on a site of 6,673 square metres, designed to give them a safe, controlled environment. Visit Dubai puts the collection at more than 50 species.

The garden is as much about learning as looking. Displays explain how a butterfly grows and changes at each stage of its life, and the on-site Dubai Butterfly Garden Kids Cinema gives younger visitors a short break from walking. Because it is indoors and air-conditioned, the Butterfly Garden opens daily, 9am until 6pm, and stays open through the summer when most outdoor attractions close, making it a comfortable daytime stop before Global Village opens in the afternoon.

How the Combo Ticket Works

The combo includes entry to Global Village and entry to the Butterfly Garden. Both parts are non-refundable once bought. The Butterfly Garden ticket stays valid for up to 30 days after purchase, which gives you flexibility to visit the two sites on different days. Children under three do not need a Butterfly Garden ticket. At both sites, outside food and drinks, glassware and alcohol are not allowed in, and every visitor should carry a valid photo ID.

Dress is casual, but beachwear is not allowed. Both venues are suitable for all ages, including expectant mothers, and both are wheelchair accessible and welcoming for people of determination.

Getting Between Global Village and the Butterfly Garden

The two sites are in different parts of the city, so plan your route. Global Village is on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, with paid parking on site. RTA buses run there daily between 3.15pm and 11.15pm, taking around 30 minutes: route 102 from Rashidiya Metro Station, route 103 from Union Metro Station, route 104 from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station and route 106 from Mall of the Emirates Metro Station.

The Butterfly Garden sits inside the Dubai Miracle Garden complex in Al Barsha South, where parking is free. Without a car, take the metro to Mall of the Emirates and then bus 105, which runs directly to Dubai Miracle Garden. Taxi drivers know both locations well.

Make a Day of It

A practical plan is butterflies in the morning or early afternoon, then across the city to Global Village for dinner, rides and the evening shows. If you are building a longer list of Dubai attractions, this combo pairs well with Dubai Safari Park for another full family day.
