About this event

The GLXY Cup New Year Ice Hockey Tournament 2026 in Dubai brings young players from around the world onto the ice for a festive international competition. Running from 30 December 2026 to 4 January 2027 at Galaxy Arena, the GLXY Cup: New Year in Dubai combines competitive youth hockey with the chance to see in the New Year in one of the world’s most exciting cities.

About GLXY Cup New Year Ice Hockey Tournament in Dubai

The tournament is organised by Galaxy Hockey Academy (GLXY) in cooperation with the UAE Winter Sports Federation, with AMYLCO listed as General Partner. It welcomes youth teams across five age groups, and according to the organisers, more than 220 clubs from 28 countries and regions have been invited.

Ice hockey might not be the first sport you link with the desert, but Dubai has a passionate and growing hockey scene. A six-day winter tournament over the New Year is a memorable way for young players to experience it, with spare time between games to explore the city.

What to Expect

Five Age Groups

Teams compete in U7, U9, U11, U13 and U15 categories, so players from the youngest beginners to early teens can take part.

Arrival Day

30 December is arrival day, with a training session or friendly match to help teams settle in.

Live Streaming

Games are broadcast online with a commentator and player statistics, so families at home can follow the action.

Visiting teams get a competitive tournament plus a festive break in Dubai, while local families and hockey fans can follow the games online. For many young players, a trip like this is about more than results: it is a chance to make friends from other countries, play in a new environment and come home with stories to tell. Parents get a festive break in the sunshine, and coaches get valuable match experience for their squads in the middle of the season.
