About this event

Hans Zimmer Live comes to Abu Dhabi on Friday 13 November 2026, when the Oscar-winning film composer brings his new show, The Next Level, to Etihad Arena on Yas Island. He performs with his 19-piece band, an orchestra and immersive visuals, turning some of the most famous film scores ever written into a full arena concert. If you have ever had goosebumps in a cinema, this is your night.

The concert is the marquee night of the 23rd Abu Dhabi Festival, which runs between 10 October and 19 December 2026, and it marks Zimmer’s return to the capital after a sell-out visit in 2025.

Hans Zimmer in Abu Dhabi: The Next Level Tour

The Next Level is Zimmer’s latest touring production, built to move his music out of the concert hall and into something closer to a rock show. Rather than a quiet evening of orchestral pieces, expect a big, physical concert in which band, orchestra and visuals are woven together, with sweeping themes, huge crescendos and plenty of emotion. Even if you do not think you know his music, you will recognise far more of it than you expect.

His last Abu Dhabi concert, in June 2025, drew such demand that a second show had to be added. Coming back as the centrepiece of the Abu Dhabi Festival, the emirate’s long-running annual arts festival, puts this date among the biggest concerts in the capital this autumn.

The Composer Behind the Scores

Hans Zimmer is a multiple Oscar and Grammy winner and one of the most recognisable names in film music. He won Academy Awards for The Lion King and for Dune, and his scores include Gladiator, The Dark Knight trilogy, The Last Samurai, Inception, Interstellar and Dune: Part One. His most recent score, F1: The Movie, earned him a Golden Globe nomination.

His appearance anchors a festival with a long track record. The Abu Dhabi Festival, founded in 2004 and organised by the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF), brings international orchestras, soloists and productions to the capital each year, and the 2026 programme also features the UAE National Orchestra. Placing a film composer at the centre of that line-up shows how far screen music has travelled from the cinema into the concert season.

What You Will Hear at Etihad Arena

A 19-piece band with an orchestra

Zimmer performs with his 19-piece band and an orchestra, giving the scores real weight in a venue of this size. Guitars, percussion and electronics sit alongside strings and brass, the same mix of textures that defines his film work.

Music spanning a career

The set draws on scores from across his career, from The Lion King to Interstellar and Dune. The exact setlist has not been published, so part of the fun is waiting to see which themes arrive next.

Immersive visuals

Immersive visuals are built into the new show, adding atmosphere and scale to the music rather than simply replaying film clips.

Etihad Arena on Yas Island

Etihad Arena is Abu Dhabi’s flagship indoor venue, built for major concerts and shows. It sits on the waterfront at Yas Bay, with restaurants and cafés nearby for dinner before the concert. By car, take Sheikh Zayed Road from downtown Abu Dhabi and follow signs for the arena; the nearest bus stop is Al Matar Al Qadeem, about 800m away, and taxi drivers know the venue well.

The arena’s rules are worth reading before you set off. Guests aged six and over need a valid ticket, children aged five and under are not admitted, and under-16s must be accompanied by an adult aged 21 or over. Professional cameras are banned, and photography or video during the performance is not allowed, including on phones. Flags of any kind are not permitted, bags larger than 30 x 30 x 15cm are refused and there is no cloakroom. Strollers stay in the stroller park outside, payment inside is contactless only, and there is no re-entry.

Keep your e-ticket on your phone, as it is scanned at the turnstile, and be ready to show photo ID and the card used to buy. Tickets bought from unauthorised resellers may be cancelled.

Who Should Book

Film fans, music lovers and anyone who enjoys a big live spectacle will get the most from the night, as will anyone who grew up with The Lion King or sat through Interstellar in awe. Fans who saw him in June 2025 will find a new production rather than a repeat of that show. It also makes a memorable evening for older children who love the films, within the arena’s age policy.

Make a weekend of it on Yas Island with Taste of Abu Dhabi, the food festival that opens nearby the same afternoon. For more live music, browse our concerts guide, and see things to do in Abu Dhabi and things to do in November for the rest of the month.
