Snow Abu Dhabi is the indoor snow park on the second floor of Reem Mall on Al Reem Island in Abu Dhabi, and the capital’s first place to play in real snow. The temperature inside stays at -2°C with snow 500 mm deep, even when it is over 40°C outside, and the whole park is themed as a whimsical Enchanted Forest.
Fleece gloves, a jacket, boots and a locker are included with entry, so you can walk in wearing ordinary clothes and be on the snow within minutes.
A long-awaited snow park for the capital
Snow Abu Dhabi was first announced with a 2020 target, and its opening was pushed back as Reem Mall was completed through the pandemic. Majid Al Futtaim Entertainment finally opened it to the public on 8 June 2023. The finished park covers 9,732 square metres, smaller than the original plans but still one of the largest indoor snow parks in the world, with 20 rides and attractions according to its launch coverage.
Rides and attractions in the Enchanted Forest
The rides are named after the characters and places of the forest story, and range from gentle to quite fast. Entry includes unlimited access to nine park rides:
- Polar Express Train and Crystal Carousel, the gentlest starting points for younger children
- Flight of the Snowy Owl and Snow Hare’s Bunny Hill
- Ice and Floe’s Bumper Tubes and Ice and Floe’s Toboggan Race
- Drift’s Downhill Run, Graupel’s Summit Escape and Troll Bowl for the more adventurous
Between rides, the Snowflake Garden and the Enchanted Tree are the park’s signature photo spots, and the snow play areas are where younger children tend to spend most of their time. There is also ice skating and giant slides, and skiing is sold separately at the counter. Dining spots inside the park let you warm up with a drink or a snack without leaving the cold zone.
Who Snow Abu Dhabi suits
For children who have never seen snow, the first step inside is the moment they remember, and the storybook theme makes it feel like more than a ride park. Families can start with the carousel and train, then move on to the toboggan race and bumper tubes as confidence grows.
There are firm age rules. Children under 2 are not permitted. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult aged 16 or older, and guests under 13 must wear helmets. Groups of teenagers and adults get the most from the faster rides, and the late opening on Fridays and Saturdays makes it an easy evening plan with friends.
Planning your visit to Reem Mall
Snow Abu Dhabi is open between 10am and 10pm from Sunday to Thursday, and until midnight on Friday and Saturday. Most visitors spend a couple of hours inside. The current ticket listing runs until 23 December 2026; tickets are valid for 30 days from purchase, and sales are final and non-refundable. Booking online in advance lets you skip the ticket queue at entry, and weekday mornings are usually the quietest time to go.
Bring a valid photo ID. Jackets, boots and fleece gloves are provided, but warm socks and a hat make a real difference at -2°C, and a layer under the jacket keeps you comfortable for longer. Food, drinks, glassware and alcohol cannot be brought into the park.
By car, take Sheikh Zayed Road (E11), then exit 29 onto Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Highway (E12). Merge onto Al Falah Street, turn right onto Al Reem Street and then left onto Najmat Street; Reem Mall is about 1.5 km ahead on the left. The mall is also reachable by bus or taxi. Once inside, head to the second floor.
Make a day of it on Al Reem Island
Because the park is inside Reem Mall, it is easy to turn a session in the snow into a full day out with shopping and a meal afterwards, which makes it a handy plan for weekends and school holidays.
