Sohum Open Mic Music Night 2026 in Dubai

About the Sohum Open Mic

There is something special about an open mic night. You never quite know who will step up next, what they will play, or which performance will stay with you on the drive home. The Sohum Open Mic brings that spirit to Sohum Wellness Sanctuary in Al Quoz on Sunday 1 November, with a supportive, community-minded evening of music and more.

Hosted by Sarah Janabi and powered by Melody House, the night welcomes musicians and performers of all kinds. Whether you have been playing for years or are about to perform in public for the very first time, the hosts describe the setting as supportive. And if you would rather simply listen, audience-only guests are very welcome too.

What to expect

Performers get a short slot of about six minutes, which usually means around two songs. On busy nights this may drop to a single song so that everyone gets a turn. Slots are allocated on a first come, first served basis, so if you want to perform, the hosts recommend arriving early to confirm your place.

The organisers have shared a few simple ground rules that help keep the evening warm and welcoming:

• Respect the mic and the people performing
• Keep content suitable for a community space
• Support other performers
• Do not monopolise the stage, and give first-timers priority

We love that first-timers are given priority. It says a lot about the kind of atmosphere the hosts want to create, and it makes this a lovely place to try performing if you have been nervous about it.

Who it is for

This is a great night for singers, songwriters, guitarists, poets with a musical streak and performers of every style. It is equally good for music lovers who enjoy discovering new local talent, friends and family coming to cheer someone on, and anyone looking for a gentle, creative way to end the weekend. Because it takes place in a wellness sanctuary, it is likely to feel calmer and more intimate than a typical bar open mic.

How to attend

Entry is free for registered guests, and spots are limited. Register through the official Luma page linked on this listing. Registration does not require approval. If you plan to perform, register and then arrive early on the night to confirm your slot with the hosts.
