The World Green Economy Summit 2026 in Dubai takes place at Dubai World Trade Centre on 21–22 October 2026. Known as WGES, the 12th edition is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and brings together policymakers, investors, financiers and business leaders to talk about growing the green economy.
About World Green Economy Summit in Dubai
WGES is organised by the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and the World Green Economy Organization. Over the years it has become a regular meeting point in Dubai for people working on sustainability, finance and policy.
This year’s theme is “From Success to Scale: Showcasing the Green Economy”. The idea is simple enough: many green projects have proved they can work, and the next challenge is making them bigger and more widespread.
The summit is aimed at decision makers. Expect people from government, business, investment and finance in the same rooms, comparing notes on what has worked and what it takes to grow it.
WGES runs alongside WETEX, the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition, at Dubai World Trade Centre. That makes it easy to combine a day of summit sessions with a walk around one of the region’s largest sustainability exhibitions.
What to Expect
Sessions are built around four pillars. Together they cover the main areas where the green economy is growing.
Energy
Energy is at the heart of the green transition. This pillar looks at cleaner power and how the shift can be scaled up.
Business Strategy
Companies play a big part in turning green ideas into everyday practice. This strand focuses on how businesses can build sustainability into their plans.
Water and Food Security
Water and food are pressing topics in this region. Sessions here explore how both can be secured for the long term.
Finance
Scaling up needs investment. The finance pillar brings investors and financiers into the conversation about funding green projects.

Visitor Tips
Register in Advance
WGES is a professional summit, so register through the official website before you go and keep your confirmation ready on your phone.
Getting There and Parking
The Dubai Metro Red Line stops at World Trade Centre station next to the venue, which is a handy way to avoid traffic during a busy week. Taxis and ride-hailing apps work well too. If you drive, leave extra time to park.
What to Bring
Business cards, a charged phone and a light layer for air-conditioned halls are all useful.
Dress Code
No dress code is listed here. Business attire is the sensible choice for a summit of this kind.
Combine It with WETEX
If you have time, set aside an hour or two for the WETEX exhibition halls. The two events cover similar ground from different angles.
