A guide to Meet'N'Train
If you have ever wanted to join a pick-up volleyball game, a sunrise run or a beginner padel session in Dubai but did not know where to find one, Meet’N’Train is worth knowing about. It is the platform behind a large number of the sports and fitness communities you see training together in parks, courts and beaches across the UAE.
About Meet’N’Train
Meet’N’Train describes itself as an event management, booking and membership platform for sports and activity communities. Rather than running every session itself, it gives organisers, from a group of friends with a weekly game to an established club, the tools to publish events, take bookings, sell memberships and build a community under their own name. The company behind the app, Meet N Train LLC, is based in Mirdif, Dubai, and its website lists communities in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
According to its own website, the platform has sold more than 93,000 tickets and hosts more than 750 communities, with around 248 active organisers and over 60,000 app downloads. Those are the company’s own figures, but they give a sense of how many groups now use it to get people moving.
What you can do on Meet’N’Train
The range of activities is wide. On the platform you will find padel, basketball, volleyball, badminton, football, tennis, running, track sessions, yoga, bootcamps and outdoor adventures. The idea, as the app puts it, is to meet people around you and get active together.
- Find an activity: browse events near you in the app or on the web and see what is coming up.
- Book and pay: join an event in a couple of taps. Payment can be made by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Tabby when an event is paid online.
- Join communities: follow the groups you like so you see their next sessions first.
- Host your own: set up a community and run your own workouts, matches and adventures, then invite friends.
- Stay motivated: the app includes daily step tracking and weekly leaderboard rankings.
Is it free?
For members, there is no subscription. Each organiser sets the price and payment method for their own events, so you will see a mix of free sessions, events paid online and events paid in person on the day. Free events are hosted in Dubai regularly, which makes it a good place to start if you are new to the city and want to try something before committing.
For organisers, Meet’N’Train says every plan is free until 31 December 2026. Organisers who want to host paid online events first complete an Organizer Verification form in their settings, after which a commission applies.
How bookings and refunds work
We like that the rules are clear. For events paid online, organisers set a lock-in date and time. If you cancel before that deadline, the full amount goes back to your in-app wallet, which you can use for another event. At the lock-in point, the event is checked against its minimum number of attendees. If the minimum is not reached, the event is cancelled automatically and everyone is refunded, so you are not left turning up to an empty court.
Who it is for
We think Meet’N’Train suits a lot of people in the UAE:
- Newcomers who want to make friends through sport.
- Regular players looking for a game when their usual group is busy.
- Beginners who would rather try a relaxed community session than sign up to a gym straight away.
- Coaches, clubs and community leaders who want one place to manage bookings, payments and members.
How to get started
- Download the MeetNTrain app from the App Store or Google Play, or visit meetntrain.com.
- Browse events by activity and area, and check whether each one is free, paid online or paid on the day.
- Join the event and note the lock-in time if it is paid online.
- If you want to host, create your community, then complete verification before running paid online events. Organisers can start at dashboard.meetntrain.com.
Good to know before you go
Most sessions are run by independent organisers, so details such as the exact meeting point, level and what to bring are set by each community. Read the event description carefully, arrive a little early for your first session and say hello to the organiser. In the warmer months, bring plenty of water and choose early morning or evening sessions. If an event is waitlisted, keep an eye on the app, as spaces can open up when people cancel before the lock-in time.
