Business Bay has grown from an office district into one of Dubai’s most interesting places to eat. Towers line the Dubai Water Canal and the Business Bay creek extension, and many of them are hotels with restaurants, bars and rooftop lounges stacked on different floors. The result is a neighbourhood where you can start with a business lunch, move to a waterside terrace for sunset and finish with a skyline view of the Burj Khalifa.
The dining scene leans social and lively. Weekends revolve around brunch, evenings bring live music and lounges, and the canal promenade at Marasi Bay adds a calmer, waterfront side to the area. Prices and styles cover a wide range, so it suits both colleagues on a working lunch and friends planning a big night out.
Business Bay Metro Station on the Red Line serves the district, and Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall station is one stop away for the Downtown end. Feeder buses connect the Metro with the streets around the canal, and taxis are easy to find at all hours.
The area also has RTA marine transport stations along the canal, including Al Marasi, Business Bay and Sheikh Zayed Road marine stations, so a water taxi can be a fun way to arrive. Check RTA for current routes and timings. Street parking is limited and towers can be confusing to drive into, so we usually choose valet at the hotel or simply take a taxi.
Saturday afternoon is peak brunch time, so book early. Weekday lunches are quieter and great value for meetings. From around October to April, evenings on the canal and outdoor terraces are at their best, while in summer the air conditioned sky lounges come into their own after sunset, when the city lights up.
Make a full day of it by pairing lunch with a stroll along the canal or something from our things to do in Dubai list.
Business Bay Metro Station on the Red Line is the main stop for restaurants in Business Bay. Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall station, one stop along, can be closer for venues at the Downtown end of the district. Feeder buses run from the station into the neighbourhood, and taxis are plentiful, which helps in summer when walking between towers in the heat is not much fun.
Yes, RTA runs marine transport in Business Bay, with stations along the canal such as Al Marasi, Business Bay and Sheikh Zayed Road marine stations. It is a scenic way to reach canal side restaurants and the Marasi Bay promenade. Routes and timings change from time to time, so check the RTA website or app before you travel, and allow a little extra time for connections.
Wanderlust at JW Marriott Marquis is one of the best known brunches in Business Bay, with live cooking stations and a lively crowd. For a calmer, more refined setting, Flow at The Lana on Marasi Bay is our pick. Saturday is the main brunch day, so book a few days ahead. You will find the latest brunch listings on our dinner and brunch page.
Malibu Sky Lounge on level 64 of Paramount Hotel Midtown is our top pick for Burj Khalifa views in Business Bay, with wraparound windows across the skyline. Many canal side terraces in the area also look towards Downtown. For the best experience, book a table around sunset so you see the city in daylight and then lit up after dark.
Yes, live music is a big part of the Business Bay dining scene. OCCO Business Bay at Hyde Dubai hosts Moroccan nights with a live band, and Malibu Sky Lounge at Paramount Hotel Midtown runs live music on many evenings. Line ups and themes change, so check the venue listing before you go. For more evening ideas, browse our nightlife guide.
Parking in Business Bay can be tricky, as street spaces fill quickly and tower car parks are not always easy to navigate. Most hotel restaurants offer valet parking, which is the simplest option if you are driving. Otherwise, take the Metro to Business Bay station or a taxi, especially on Saturday brunch days and busy weekend evenings.
