About this event

Suhani Shah Spellbound in Dubai brings India’s best-known mentalist to Emirates Theatre in Jumeirah on Saturday 21 November 2026. Billed as Suhani: The Mentalist, she mixes mind-reading, psychological illusions, predictions and audience participation in a two-hour live show performed in Hinglish, a blend of Hindi and English. Doors open at 6pm and the show starts at 7pm.

The question at the centre of Spellbound is simple and slightly unsettling: what if your thoughts were not as private as you imagined?

Who is Suhani Shah?

Suhani Shah was born in Rajasthan in 1990 and started performing magic at the age of six or seven. Her first public show took place on 22 October 1997 at Thakorbhai Desai Hall in Ahmedabad, and she left formal schooling after the first grade to be home-schooled while she toured. By 2019 she had performed more than 5,000 shows.

She began as an illusionist and gradually moved into mentalism, the branch of magic built on reading people, influencing choices and revealing what someone is thinking. The All India Magic Association gave her the title Jadoopari, roughly “magic fairy”, and in July 2025 she won Best Magic Creator at FISM, the world championships of magic, held in Turin. FISM, the International Federation of Magic Societies, stages its championships only every three years, so the award puts her among the most respected names in the field. Her YouTube channel has around 4.8 million subscribers and more than 1.3 billion views, and she hosts the web series That’s My Job.

Away from the stage she works as a clinical hypnotherapist, corporate trainer and counsellor, has written the book Unleash Your Hidden Powers and has given several TED Talks. That mix of performance and psychology is a big part of what makes her shows feel different from a conventional magic act.

About Spellbound

Spellbound is the show that has taken her to international stages. In 2024 she performed it at The Capitol in Melbourne as part of RISING, Melbourne’s large-scale winter arts festival, and she appeared on Australian TV’s The Project in early 2025. The Dubai listing describes it as a live experience where the unexpected happens right in front of you, with every moment designed to make you question what is possible and wonder what the mind can reveal.

Crucially, it is a show you become part of rather than one you simply watch. Expect volunteers from the audience, predictions that seem impossible, moments where Suhani appears to know things she cannot possibly know, and plenty of humour between the reveals. Part of the fun is trying to work out how it is done, and that puzzle tends to carry on long after the final reveal.

What to expect on the night

The show runs for about two hours from a 7pm start, so you should be out by around 9pm, in good time for a late dinner in Jumeirah. Seating is allocated and elevated, so you will know exactly where you are sitting and should have a clear view of the stage, which matters for a show built on small gestures and close reactions.

Because the performance is in Hinglish, it works best for audiences comfortable with both Hindi and English. If you are picked as a volunteer, you will be part of the action on stage; if not, you get the slightly easier job of watching other people’s minds being read. The dress code is casual.

The venue: Emirates Theatre, Jumeirah

Emirates Theatre is the indoor theatre at Emirates International School on Al Thanya Street in Jumeirah, and it is often used for touring shows in this part of the city. Its elevated seating suits an act like this one, where much of the drama is in the faces of the volunteers on stage.

By car, take Umm Suqeim Street, then Al Wasl Road, turn right onto Al Thanya Street and right again at the next turning. By Metro, ride the Red Line to Equiti station and walk a short distance. Taxis and ride-hailing apps are another easy option. No parking details are given on the ticket page.

Who it suits

Spellbound suits groups of friends, couples and families who enjoy a show that keeps them guessing, as well as fans who have followed Suhani’s videos online and want to see the real thing. Sceptics are welcome too; mentalism tends to work best on people who are sure they will not be fooled. The listing does not state an age policy, so check with Platinumlist before booking for younger children. If your plans change, you can exchange your ticket with another fan.
