A Night of Ludovico Einaudi in Dubai is a tribute concert at The New Covent Garden Theatre in Mall of the Emirates on Friday 20 November 2026, where the chamber ensemble Tynda Music performs a programme of the Italian composer’s music in new arrangements. The concert runs for about 90 minutes, and it includes melodies from the films 1+1 (The Intouchables) and Nomadland among many other pieces.
One thing to know before you book: this is a tribute performance. Ludovico Einaudi does not take part. Doors open at 6:30pm, the music starts at 7pm, and guests aged five and over are welcome.
Why Einaudi’s music fills theatres
Ludovico Einaudi, born in Turin, is one of the best-known names in modern neoclassical music. His pieces are built from simple, repeating piano figures that grow slowly, often with strings layered on top, and that clarity is a big part of their appeal. People who would never book a symphony concert know his work from films, adverts, study playlists and streaming, which is why tribute evenings like this one draw such a mixed crowd.
Film has carried his music a long way. The French hit 1+1, released in English as The Intouchables, used his piano pieces to underline its friendship story, and Chloé Zhao’s Oscar-winning Nomadland leaned on his compositions for its quiet, wide-open landscapes. Both are named on the programme for this Dubai concert.
Who are Tynda Music?
Tynda Music is an international project founded in 2022 by maestro Aidos Mendaliyev, who started it in Almaty, Kazakhstan, with his wife Aigerim. Both trained in music at an academic level: Aidos played the dombra as a child, took up conducting at school and led ensembles while studying at the conservatory.
The project grew quickly. Its first concert, in September 2022 at the Baluan Sholak Sports Palace in Almaty, drew about 4,000 people, and that December the ensemble played 33 concerts in 15 cities over 21 days. According to Forbes Kazakhstan, Tynda Music had given around 560 concerts in three years across 12 countries, including the UAE, with more than 170,000 people attending in 2024 alone.
Einaudi was where it all began. The founders previously performed under the name Einaudi, and his music was the programme of their first tour. They now also tour Hans Zimmer film scores and Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, but the Einaudi evening remains the signature show they take to new cities. The ensemble has played this tribute in Dubai before, at Zabeel Theatre.
What to expect from the concert
For this programme the ensemble is six musicians strong: piano, violin, viola, cello, electric guitar and percussion. Piano and strings carry the familiar Einaudi sound, while the electric guitar and percussion add texture and a slightly more contemporary pulse, so pieces you know from headphones take on a fuller, room-filling shape.
The arrangements are new for this tour, keeping the melodies recognisable while changing their colour through the line-up. A full set list has not been published, so beyond the film themes from 1+1 and Nomadland, treat the rest of the evening as a pleasant surprise. At around 90 minutes from a 7pm start, it finishes in good time for dinner in the mall afterwards.
The venue: The New Covent Garden Theatre
The New Covent Garden Theatre is on Level 2 of Mall of the Emirates in Al Barsha, just off Sheikh Zayed Road. The hall has both stalls and circle seating, and tickets are sold by zone, from the circle levels at the back to the VIP and Platinum stalls closest to the stage. If you like to watch the pianist’s hands, the front stalls are the place to be; the circle gives a better view of the whole ensemble.
The ticket page gives clear directions. By Metro, take the Red Line to Mall of the Emirates station (R32). Drivers should use the Level 2 Orange Zone car park, sections A5 and A6, which is the closest to the theatre. By taxi, ask for the drop-off at Entrance A, then take the lift or escalator up to Level 2.
Who it suits
This is an easy, relaxed concert for anyone who loves cinematic piano music, whether you have followed Einaudi for years or only know a couple of tunes from films. With a minimum age of five, it works well as a first live concert for children who are learning the piano or strings, and the 90 minute length suits younger attention spans. Couples looking for a calm evening out, and friends who would rather talk about the music over dinner than shout over it, will feel at home too.
Make an evening of it
Because the theatre is inside Mall of the Emirates, it is simple to pair the concert with an early bite or a late dinner without moving the car. If you cannot attend after booking, the ticket page says you can exchange your ticket with another fan.
