Summer in Nashville brings a full day of country music to Dubai on Saturday 31 October, filling the lawn at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre with tribute shows, live bands, line dancing and the smell of American barbecue. It is the Dubai stop of a touring festival that started in the UK, and its first Dubai edition at the same amphitheatre sold out.
A UK country festival that found a second home in Dubai
Summer in Nashville was set up in the UK in 2024 and bills itself as the UK’s biggest touring country festival, moving between towns across Britain and Ireland with the same recipe of tribute acts, covers bands, fairground games and food stalls. Dubai joined the tour in April 2025, when the festival took over Dubai Media City Amphitheatre for the first time and sold out completely. A return was announced for spring 2026, and this autumn date at the amphitheatre is the latest Dubai edition, with the organiser listing Abu Dhabi on its tour map too.
The idea is simple: take the feel of a night out on Broadway in Nashville, where live country music spills out of every bar, and turn it into an open-air day in Media City. You do not need to know your Garth from your Dolly to have a good time, because the music is built around songs that crowds know by heart.
The line-up: tributes, covers and a live karaoke band
The programme mixes tribute shows to some of the biggest names in modern country with UK covers bands and acts from the local scene. On the bill this year:
- The Lainey Wilson Experience: a tribute to the Louisiana singer behind “Watermelon Moonshine” and “Heart Like a Truck”, one of the leading voices in country today.
- The Luke Combs Experience: the songs of the North Carolina star known for big singalongs such as “Beautiful Crazy” and his cover of “Fast Car”.
- The Ella Langley Experience: a nod to one of country’s rising names, whose duet “You Look Like You Love Me” became a crossover hit.
- Chasing Mumford: a Mumford and Sons tribute, for the banjo-driven folk anthems.
- Country Bound: billed as the UK’s top country covers band and the headline act at the spring edition.
- Robbie McMinn, Lauren Claire Townley, The Rooftop Riffs, Lady J and Steve Ray Ladson: solo artists and bands filling the afternoon and evening sets.
- DJ Chris Armstrong: keeping things moving between the live acts.
Then there is Countryoke, which is exactly what it sounds like: country karaoke, but with a live band behind you instead of a backing track. If you have always wanted to belt out a Shania Twain chorus with real musicians, this is your moment.
Line dancing, rodeo bulls and tin can alley
The music is only half of it. Bootscoot Line Dancing runs sessions through the day, and the crew teaches beginners the steps, so you can go from standing at the edge to joining the rows in a song or two. Between sets you can try to stay on a mechanical rodeo bull, have a go at axe throwing or knock down cans at tin can alley, the old fairground favourite.
Cowboy hats are very much part of the look, and the organisers hand out 500 hats on the day, so the earlier arrivals are the ones most likely to go home with one. Boots, denim and checked shirts are encouraged as a theme, although there is no formal dress code.
Food: American barbecue and street food
Food comes from American barbecue and street food stalls, which suits a festival that runs from mid-afternoon into the night. Expect the kind of smoky, hands-on dishes you would want between line dancing sessions, served across the lawn so you can eat without missing a set.
The setting at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre
Dubai Media City Amphitheatre is an open-air venue on a grassy lawn in Media City, close to Dubai Marina and Al Sufouh Road. The stage looks out over a wide lawn, which works well for a festival like this one: there is room to dance at the front, sit on the grass further back and wander over to the games and food stalls in between.
Doors open at 2pm and the music runs until around 11pm, so the day starts in the afternoon sun and ends under the lights after dark. By Metro, the nearest station given by the organiser is Dubai Internet City on the Red Line. Drivers coming from Dubai Marina can follow Al Sufouh Road straight to Media City.
Who will love Summer in Nashville
- Country fans who rarely get a full day of the genre in the UAE, especially those who follow Lainey Wilson, Luke Combs or Ella Langley.
- Groups of friends and work teams looking for a sociable Saturday with games, music and something to laugh about together.
- Families: earlier Dubai editions offered separate tickets for under-21s and under-fives, so younger fans have been part of the crowd before. Check the current ticket options for this date.
- First-timers to country, who will recognise more songs than they expect, from Mumford and Sons anthems to Luke Combs singalongs.
As it falls on 31 October, the festival is also a lighter alternative to a Halloween party, with cowboy hats instead of costumes.
