About

About British Chamber of Commerce Dubai

The British Chamber of Commerce Dubai (BCCD) is a not-for-profit business group for UK-linked companies and individuals with business interests in the region. Its members include British-owned companies based in Dubai, UK-registered organisations and UK passport holders.

Until early 2024 it was known as the British Business Group. The new name was announced in January 2024, with the endorsement of Dubai Chambers and the British Chambers of Commerce. Press reports from the time say the group has represented British businesses in Dubai and the Northern Emirates since 1997.

Its office is in The David May Building on the British Embassy Compound, Al Seef Road, Bur Dubai. Upcoming BCCD events listed on Thingstodo.ae appear at the top of this page.

Guide

What to expect at BCCD events

A busy calendar for business people

The BCCD runs one of the fuller business calendars in Dubai. We regularly list its Quick Connect speed networking evenings, sponsored business briefings over breakfast, workshops and member networking nights at hotels and venues across the city. Many events are open to non-members as well as members, usually at a different price, so check the official event page for who can attend.

Event formats

  • Quick Connect speed networking: short, timed conversations so you meet lots of people in one evening.
  • Business briefings: morning sessions with expert speakers on topics such as people, growth and regulation.
  • Member networking: relaxed evenings, often hosted by a member business.
  • Workshops, seminars and masterclasses: practical sessions for business owners and managers.
  • Golf days, new member breakfasts and the AGM through the year.

Who it suits

BCCD events suit founders, managers and professionals with a link to the UK, as well as anyone who works with British businesses in the region. If you are new to Dubai and want to build a professional network quickly, a speed networking evening is an easy first step, because the format does the introductions for you.

How to join

Membership comes in several tiers, and you can apply online through the membership page on the BCCD website or by calling +971 4 397 0303. Fees are set by the chamber and can change, so we do not list them here. You can also browse our business networking calendar for other networking events across the UAE.

Our tips for your first event

  • Bring business cards, or keep a QR code to your LinkedIn profile ready.
  • Prepare a 20-second introduction: who you are, what you do and who you would like to meet.
  • Follow up within 24 hours with the people you met.
