About this event

Downtown Design 2026 in Dubai runs from Thursday 5 to Sunday 8 November 2026 at Dubai Design District (d3), with four days of contemporary furniture, lighting, textiles and materials. Billed as the Middle East’s leading design fair, it is also the anchor event of Dubai Design Week, so the fair sits at the centre of a wider programme of installations, workshops and a weekend marketplace spread across d3.

It brings international brands, regional studios and emerging talent together under one roof, with new collections, innovative products and creative installations alongside talks and pop-ups.

The four strands of the fair

The fair is organised around a few clear strands, and knowing them helps you plan where to spend your time.

Global Exhibitors

A curated selection of design brands and makers from around the world presents new work. Around the main stands, pop-up showcases, creative concepts and programming add a second layer, and these are often where the more experimental ideas turn up.

Regional Spotlight

Leading regional designers and studios are shown alongside emerging talent. If you want a sense of where design in the Middle East is heading, this is the part of the fair to linger in.

Immersive Programme

As part of Dubai Design Week, the immersive programme brings installations, workshops and a weekend marketplace with food and drink experiences across Dubai Design District. It turns a visit to the fair into a longer outing around the neighbourhood.

Design Networking and Trade Access

The fair is open to both professionals and design enthusiasts, with no separate trade days listed. For designers, architects, makers and others in the industry, it doubles as a place to meet suppliers, source products and make connections. If you are working on a project, a clear brief makes those conversations more productive.

Opening hours

  • Thursday 5 November: 12pm to 8pm
  • Friday 6 November: 12pm to 8pm
  • Saturday 7 November: 12pm to 8pm
  • Sunday 8 November: 12pm to 6pm

The final day closes two hours earlier, so if you are planning a Sunday visit, give yourself enough time to see the main halls. The weekend marketplace makes Saturday and Sunday the natural choice if you want food and drink as part of the day; Thursday and Friday suit visitors who prefer to focus on the stands.

Planning your visit

Because the fair and the wider Design Week programme share the same district, it helps to think of a visit in two parts. Inside the fair, the Global Exhibitors give you the international picture and the Regional Spotlight shows what studios closer to home are making, with talks and pop-ups between the larger stands. Outside, the immersive programme of installations and workshops runs across d3, and at the weekend the marketplace adds food and drink. If you are visiting for work, set aside time for conversations on the stands; if you are visiting for inspiration, leave room to wander the district afterwards.

Who it suits

Downtown Design suits interior designers, architects, developers and anyone sourcing products for a project. It is just as rewarding for design lovers who simply enjoy seeing what is new, whether you are furnishing a home or curious about the latest collections in furniture and lighting. Students and emerging designers will find plenty to learn from in the Regional Spotlight and the work of up-and-coming studios.

The listing does not state an age policy. It is primarily an exhibition, so it will appeal most to older children and teenagers with an interest in design or making.

Getting to d3

The organisers recommend a taxi or public transport for the smoothest trip.

  • Shuttle: a dedicated bus shuttle runs between designated pickup and drop-off points within the district and the fair.
