About this event

The Hoppers Outdoor Movie Night in Dubai brings Pixar’s 2026 animated comedy to the open-air screen at JLT Park on Saturday 14 November 2026. The screening is part of Cinema Under the Stars, the free weekly film series run by JLT by DMCC, and it plays on the Cluster Q lawn at 7:30pm with English and Arabic subtitles. No ticket is needed to sit on the grass, so families can simply bring a blanket and a picnic and settle in.

For children who missed Hoppers in cinemas earlier this year, or who have already watched it on repeat at home, a big screen under the evening sky is a fun way to see it again with the neighbourhood.

Hoppers: Pixar’s Body-Swapping Animal Comedy

Hoppers is written and directed by Daniel Chong, the creator of the animated series We Bare Bears. Its heroine is Mabel, an animal lover who uses new technology to transfer her mind into a lifelike robot beaver. Inside her new body she can talk to the wildlife around her and see the world from their point of view, only to discover that the animal kingdom works rather differently from how she imagined.

Piper Curda voices Mabel, with Bobby Moynihan as King George and Jon Hamm as Mayor Jerry, and a supporting cast that includes Dave Franco, Vanessa Bayer, Sam Richardson and Meryl Streep. The film opened in cinemas on 6 March 2026 with a PG rating and arrived on Disney+ in June, so this lawn screening is one of the newest titles in the JLT line-up. Talking animals, slapstick and a sense of adventure keep younger viewers engaged, while the grown-ups get plenty of jokes aimed at them.

How the Hoppers Outdoor Movie Night Works

Free Seats on the Lawn

The lawn runs on a first come, first served basis, so the earlier you arrive, the better your spot near the screen. You are welcome to bring your own chairs, blankets, snacks and drinks, which turns the evening into an easy family picnic. The only request from the organisers is that you clear up after yourselves when the credits roll.

Beanbags With Popcorn Near the Front

If you would like a little more comfort, a limited number of beanbags are set out in a reserved area close to the screen, each one coming with a large popcorn. They are popular on animation nights, so check availability on the JLT website before you head out if you want one.

Subtitles in Two Languages

Every film in the series is shown with both English and Arabic subtitles, which helps mixed-language families and younger readers follow the story. Registering on the JLT website is optional: it helps the organisers plan numbers and means you hear about new titles as they are announced, roughly two weeks ahead.

A few house rules apply. Pets cannot come to the screenings, and the team shares any weather updates on JLT’s website and social channels on the day.

Cinema Under the Stars at JLT Park

Outdoor films have been part of community life in Jumeirah Lakes Towers for years. Earlier editions screened on Friday nights in a different cluster, and the series has since settled on Saturday evenings in JLT Park, with the 2025 to 2026 season running every weekend until mid February. This season continues until 30 January 2027, with a new title each Saturday and family favourites leading the early weeks.

The screen is set up in JLT Park in Cluster Q, on the stretch of grass between Splendour Fields and the children’s playground. There is level access from the promenade, and accessible toilets are available in Cluster Q, which makes it manageable with pushchairs and wheelchairs.

Getting to JLT Park

The Dubai Metro is the simplest option. Take the Red Line to Sobha Realty Station, use Exit 1 and walk through Cluster R for around five minutes. Taxis and ride-hailing cars can drop off in Cluster Q, Cluster R or at JLT Park itself, and there is paid parking at the park as well as in Clusters Q and R, which fills up on busy Saturday evenings.

Who Will Love This JLT Film Night

Hoppers suits families with primary school children best, given its PG rating and animal-filled story, but the free lawn format means anyone can wander over. Because the evenings cool down as the season goes on, a light layer for the children is worth packing for a mid November screening.

If Hoppers goes down well, the next two Saturdays keep the animation going with Inside Out 2 on 21 November and Toy Story on 28 November, both at the same spot in JLT Park.
