Live & Kicking Halloween Spooktacular is a three-hour afternoon party inside Theatre by QE2, the theatre aboard the Queen Elizabeth 2 at Port Rashid in Dubai. Part of the Live & Kicking Saturday Afternoon Party Series, this Halloween edition swaps the usual set list for monster hits and Halloween favourites, with live performers, spooky surprises and a buffet and drinks package running from 2pm to 5pm.
It is a daytime party rather than a late night, which is exactly the appeal for many people: you get the dancing, the costumes and the big tunes, and you are back on dry land with the evening still ahead of you.
What happens at a Live & Kicking party
The Saturday Afternoon Party Series is built for dancing and singing along. For Halloween, the organisers promise a soundtrack of monster hits and big tunes, Halloween-themed dancing and live performers they describe as scarily brilliant, plus a few spooky surprises they are keeping to themselves. The individual performers have not been named yet.
The format is simple and social. Groups book tables, the bar opens, the food comes out and the music builds across the afternoon. Because everything happens inside a theatre rather than a club, there is a stage to watch as well as a floor to dance on, and being on board a historic liner makes the afternoon feel like more of an occasion.
Packages: food and drink
There are two packages, and both cover the full three hours:
- House Package: buffet-style party food and unlimited house drinks.
- Premium Package: the same buffet and unlimited house drinks, plus premium fizz options.
Drinks are unlimited for the duration of the party, according to the package you choose. The bar opens 30 minutes before the start, so arriving when doors open at 1:30pm means you can be settled with a drink before the party begins at 2pm.
Booking as a group
Live & Kicking is designed for groups, and the seating rules reflect that. If your friends are buying tickets separately, agree on one host name and have everyone enter it at checkout so you are seated together. Groups of fewer than six may be combined with other groups at shared tables, so if you want a table to yourselves, aim for six or more.
Birthday groups of six or more are specifically catered for, which makes this a natural choice for a Halloween birthday. If you are organising, one host name, a headcount of six or more and a shared plan for costumes is all it takes to keep the group together.
Who it suits
- Friends who want a party without a late night, finishing at 5pm with time for dinner or an early evening.
- Birthday groups of six or more who want a table, a buffet and a dance floor in one booking.
- Halloween fans who like dressing up but would rather do it in daylight.
- Office groups planning a Halloween social that wraps up before evening plans.
- Anyone curious about the QE2 who has not yet been on board.
The party is strictly for guests aged 21 and over, so it is not one for families; our kids’ events in Dubai page has Halloween plans for children instead.
On board the QE2 at Port Rashid
Theatre by QE2 is the onboard theatre of the Queen Elizabeth 2, the Cunard ocean liner that sailed from 1969 until 2008 and is now permanently berthed at Port Rashid as a floating hotel. For this afternoon, its theatre becomes the party room, which is a large part of what makes the event different. If you want to make a night of it, the organisers say overnight stays on the QE2 can be arranged for party guests; enquiries go through the ticketing team’s email or WhatsApp.
By car, follow Sheikh Zayed Road towards Port Rashid, then follow the signs for Queen Elizabeth 2. By Metro, take the Red Line to BurJuman and finish the journey by taxi or ride-hailing car. With unlimited drinks in the package, a taxi from wherever you are in Dubai is the sensible way to arrive and leave.
