عن الفعالية

Bongo’s Bingo Halloween Special takes over Bla Bla by McGettigan’s in Dubai on Friday night, bringing its mix of bingo, crowd karaoke and rave breaks to The Tent in Dubai Marina with a Halloween twist. The tagline for the night is “Ghouls just wanna have fun”, which tells you most of what you need to know about the tone.

If you have never been, the format is simple. You play proper rounds of bingo for prizes that are deliberately ridiculous, and in between the games the room turns into something closer to a party, with singalongs, dance-offs and confetti. The Halloween edition keeps all of that and adds spooky surprises and what the organisers call plenty of tricks and treats.

How a Bongo’s Bingo night works

The evening has a clear rhythm. Doors open at 7pm, last entry is at 8pm and the show itself starts at 8:30pm, so the first part of the night is for finding your group a spot, getting a drink and settling in before the games begin.

Once the show is under way, it moves between a few repeating elements:

  • Bingo rounds with prizes that range from the useful to the absurd. The organisers keep the details secret, so part of the fun is seeing what comes out next.
  • Crowd karaoke, where the whole room sings along together rather than one person at a microphone.
  • Rave intervals that briefly turn the venue into a mini-festival before the next game.
  • Dance-offs between guests, cheered on by everyone else.
  • Confetti and surprises that the organisers have chosen not to reveal in advance.

It is loud, it is silly and it rewards people who join in. If your idea of bingo is a quiet hall and a dabber, this is a very different evening.

The Halloween edition

For the Halloween Special, fancy dress is highly encouraged. Whether you go full horror or just add a pair of devil horns, a costume puts you in the spirit of the night. Group costumes work especially well at a table-based event like this, because you will be sitting together for most of the night.

The spooky surprises and tricks and treats are the main difference from a regular Bongo’s night. The organisers have not said exactly what they involve, so expect the unexpected.

The Tent at Bla Bla by McGettigan’s

Bla Bla by McGettigan’s is in Dubai Marina, and the event takes place in The Tent. Seating is unreserved floor seating, which means groups who want to sit together should plan to arrive together. Food and drink stalls run through the night, alcohol is served, and the venue has disability access. Smoking is allowed, and cameras are permitted if you want to capture your friends in costume or mid dance-off.

Rules to know before you go

  • 21+ only: entry is exclusively for guests aged 21 and above, and a strict door policy is enforced. Bring ID.
  • No re-entry: once you leave, you cannot come back in, so step outside only when you are done for the night.
  • Last entry at 8pm: arrivals after that time will not be admitted, even though the show does not start until 8:30pm.
  • Tickets at the door: tickets are listed as available at the door.
  • Change of plans: if you cannot make it, you can exchange your ticket with another fan.

Who it suits

Bongo’s Bingo is built for groups. It suits birthday parties, groups of friends kicking off the Halloween weekend and office teams who want a social with more energy than a sit-down dinner. You do not need to be good at bingo, and nobody will mind if you cannot sing. What matters is being willing to sing along and maybe volunteer for a dance-off.

It is less suited to anyone after a calm evening or a proper conversation, as the volume and the crowd interaction are the point. And with the strict 21+ policy, it is not an option for families; if you have children, our kids’ events in Dubai page lists family Halloween plans instead.

Getting to Bla Bla in Dubai Marina

By car, take Sheikh Zayed Road (E11) and exit towards King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street (D94). Continue to Exit 29 and follow the signs for the South Beach Entrance via Al Sayorah Street. Parking is available at the venue.

By public transport, take the T1 tram to Jumeirah Beach Residence 2 station, which is a short walk away. Taxis and ride-hailing apps also serve the venue, which is the easier option if you plan to make the most of the bar.

Bongo’s Bingo is also running a Halloween Special in Abu Dhabi on Saturday, so friends in the capital have their own date. For more Halloween parties and late nights, see our Dubai nightlife listings, browse things to do this weekend, or check things to do in October.
