عن الفعالية

Bongo’s Bingo Halloween Special is the party bingo night’s first ever show in Abu Dhabi, taking over Lock, Stock and Barrel on the Yas Bay Waterfront on Saturday 31 October. The capital gets its own night at last, and the debut comes with a Halloween theme: Ghouls Just Wanna Have Fun.

Doors open at 5:30pm and the show starts at 6:45pm, which makes this an early-evening Halloween plan that still leaves the rest of the night open.

What is Bongo’s Bingo?

If you have only ever pictured bingo as a quiet game in a church hall, Bongo’s Bingo is the opposite. You play real rounds of bingo for prizes that are deliberately ridiculous, but the rounds are broken up by crowd karaoke, dance-offs, confetti and rave intervals that briefly turn the venue into a mini-festival. The point is not winning so much as joining in.

The Halloween Special adds spooky surprises and tricks and treats to that mix. The organisers have not revealed every detail, and keeping a few surprises back is part of the format.

How the night runs

  • 5:30pm: doors open. Find your group a spot, get a drink from the bar or food from the stalls, and settle in.
  • 6:30pm: last entry. Anyone arriving after this will not be admitted, so do not cut it fine.
  • 6:45pm: the show begins, alternating between bingo games, singalongs, dance-offs and rave breaks.

The event is expected to wrap up by around 10pm, leaving time for a late dinner on Yas Bay afterwards if you are not ready to go home.

Fancy dress and the Halloween theme

Fancy dress is highly encouraged. With a theme like Ghouls Just Wanna Have Fun, anything from full horror make-up to a group of matching witches fits the brief. Costumes are not required to get in, but at a night built around crowd participation, dressing up does help you get into it.

Lock, Stock and Barrel, Yas Bay

Lock, Stock and Barrel sits on the Yas Bay Waterfront on Yas Island. For Bongo’s Bingo, seating is unreserved floor seating, so groups who want to sit together should arrive together, ideally soon after doors open. Food and drink stalls run through the night, alcohol is served, and disability access is available. Cameras are allowed, so you can capture the dance-offs, and smoking is permitted at the venue.

Tickets are also listed as available at the door, but with a strict last-entry time and unreserved seating, booking ahead and arriving early is the safer approach.

Planning your group’s night

Because seats are not allocated, the first hour after doors open is when groups claim their spot, so agree a meeting time before 5:30pm rather than arriving in ones and twos. Bring photo ID for everyone, since the 21+ rule is strictly enforced at the door. Costumes, a phone for photos and a voice for the singalongs are all you really need; food and drink are sorted on site. If one of your group cannot make it, their ticket can be passed to someone else rather than going to waste. And as nobody can leave and come back in, step outside only once you are finished for the night.

Rules to know before you go

  • 21+ only: entry is exclusive to guests aged 21 and above, with strictly controlled entry. Bring photo ID.
  • No re-entry: once you leave, you cannot come back in.
  • Last entry 6:30pm: latecomers are turned away even though the show starts at 6:45pm.
  • Change of plans: tickets can be transferred to another person if you cannot go.

Who it suits

  • Groups of friends after a loud, sociable Halloween night out in the capital.
  • Birthday groups and team socials who want something livelier than dinner and drinks.
  • Abu Dhabi residents who have heard about Bongo’s Bingo in Dubai and want to try it closer to home.
  • Costume lovers looking for a crowd that will appreciate the effort.
  • Yas Island regulars who want an early-evening plan on the waterfront before dinner elsewhere on the island.

It is less suited to anyone after a quiet evening, and with the 21+ policy it is not an option for families; our things to do in Abu Dhabi guide has family-friendly Halloween ideas too.

Getting to Yas Bay

By car, the suggested route runs via Al Mad Street, Ar Rahah Street and Yas Street; make a U-turn and turn right towards the venue. The organisers recommend using GPS, and parking is available. Taxis and ride-hailing apps are the easier choice if you plan to make the most of the bar.

Prefer to stay in Dubai? Bongo’s Bingo is also running a Halloween Special at Bla Bla in Dubai Marina on Friday 30 October. For more ideas, see our nightlife listings, things to do this weekend and things to do in October.
