Elemental: Outdoor Movie Night brings Pixar’s Elemental to the big screen on the lawn at JLT Park in Dubai on Saturday 7 November 2026, as part of the free Cinema Under the Stars series run by JLT by DMCC. The film begins at 7:30pm in Cluster Q, Jumeirah Lakes Towers, and is shown with English and Arabic subtitles, so the whole family can follow along.
Bring a blanket or a folding chair, pack a picnic and settle in for a film under the open sky in the middle of Jumeirah Lakes Towers.
Cinema Under the Stars at JLT Park
Cinema Under the Stars is a weekly outdoor screening series in JLT, held every Saturday at 7:30pm through to 30 January 2027. Each week a different film is shown on the lawn at JLT Park, with titles announced about two weeks in advance. Registering through the JLT website is optional, but it helps the organisers plan numbers and means you hear about new film announcements first.
The season mixes animated family favourites with bigger live-action titles. Elemental sits between Hoppers on 14 November and Inside Out 2 on 21 November, so families who enjoy the evening can easily make it a regular Saturday plan.
The season opened with Goosebumps on 31 October, and after Elemental the line-up runs through Toy Story on 28 November, The Martian on 5 December and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings on 12 December, then Detective Pikachu and, the day after Christmas, A Christmas Carol. January brings Pixar’s Elio, The Lego Batman Movie, Moana 2 and Spider-Man: No Way Home, before Rio closes the series on 30 January 2027. With a mix of Pixar, Disney, superhero and science fiction titles, there is something for most ages across the winter. Pixar fans are particularly well served: Hoppers, Inside Out 2, Toy Story and Elio all come from the same studio as Elemental, which makes it easy to build a run of Saturday family nights around them.
About Elemental, the Pixar Film
Released in June 2023 and directed by Peter Sohn, Elemental is set in Element City, where residents of fire, water, land and air live side by side. It follows Ember, a fiery young woman who works in her family’s shop, voiced by Leah Lewis, and Wade, an easy-going water guy, voiced by Mamoudou Athie. Their unlikely friendship challenges everything Ember believes about the world she lives in.
Beneath the bright, inventive visuals, it is a warm story about family, the immigrant experience and finding your own path, themes that resonate with many families in a city as international as Dubai. The story is personal to its director: Peter Sohn grew up in the Bronx, where his parents, Korean immigrants, ran a grocery store, and Ember’s family shop is a tribute to their sacrifices. The film took around seven years to make, and in January 2024 it was nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 96th Academy Awards. The film is rated PG for some peril, thematic elements and brief language, and runs for about an hour and 40 minutes, so it finishes at a reasonable time for younger children.
How the Elemental Outdoor Movie Night Works
Choosing your spot
The screen is set up on the lawn at JLT Park, between Splendour Fields and the children’s playground. Space on the grass is first come, first served, so arriving a little before 7:30pm gives you a better choice of position.
Picnic or beanbag
You are welcome to bring your own chairs, blankets, food and drinks, as long as you clear up after the film. For a more comfortable option, beanbags can be booked in a reserved area near the front, and each one comes with a large popcorn. Entry to the lawn itself is free, and registering in advance is optional, so you can decide on the day and simply walk over with your blanket.
Subtitles for everyone
Screenings carry both English and Arabic subtitles, which helps younger viewers and mixed-language families keep up with the story.
Rules to know
Pets are not allowed at the screenings. The lawn has level access from the promenade without steps, and there are accessible toilets in Cluster Q.
Getting to JLT Park, Cluster Q
JLT Park sits in Cluster Q of Jumeirah Lakes Towers. By metro, take the Red Line to Sobha Realty station, use Exit 1 and walk for about five minutes through Cluster R. Taxis and ride-hailing cars can drop off in Cluster Q, Cluster R or at JLT Park itself, and parking is available in Clusters Q and R and at the park, so allow a little extra time on a Saturday evening.
