The Global Village Diwali Mela in Dubai runs for five evenings, from Friday 6 to Tuesday 10 November 2026, with something different planned for each day. A first-ever baithak opens proceedings, a 600-drone show lights up the sky on Diwali night itself, and the India Pavilion helps run a mela of food, shopping and family fun across the park.
Best of all, the Diwali programme is part of your normal visit. There is no separate Diwali ticket to buy, so you can plan a whole evening at the park around one or two highlights.
About the Global Village Diwali Mela in Dubai
Global Village is in its 2026 to 2027 season, which opened on 14 October and runs until May 2027. Diwali is one of the big cultural moments of the autumn programme, and the park is giving it five days rather than a single night. The India Pavilion is helping to run the mela, which brings cultural entertainment, festive shopping and activities for children.
The celebrations begin at 4pm each day, when the park opens. On Friday and Saturday the park stays open until 1am, while Sunday to Tuesday it closes at midnight, so there is plenty of time to fit in the shows and still have a proper look around the pavilions.
Day by Day: What Is On
Friday 6 November: The First Baithak
The opening night brings Global Village’s first-ever baithak to the Main Stage, from 8pm to 9pm. A baithak is a South Asian music gathering, traditionally an intimate session where singers and musicians perform for an audience seated close by. It is a gentle, atmospheric way to start the festival and falls on Dhanteras.
Saturday 7 November: Games With Prizes
Saturday is the day for games, with prizes up for grabs. It is a good pick if you are bringing children who like something to do rather than just something to watch.
Sunday 8 November: Diwali Night and the Drone Show
Sunday is Diwali itself and the headline night. At 8pm, 600 drones will rise over the Stunt Arena and the Syria Pavilion and form Diwali shapes in light. The park is open until midnight, so you can make a full evening of it.
Monday 9 November: Mela and Kids Corner
Monday keeps the festival going with the mela, a Kids Corner and plenty of food. As a weeknight, it can be a good evening to browse at a gentler pace.
Tuesday 10 November: Families and Ladies
The final day is for families and ladies only, in line with the park’s usual Tuesday policy. It is a relaxed way to catch the last of the Diwali atmosphere.
Where to Stand for the Drone Show
The drone show is the moment most people will come for, so a little planning helps. The display takes place over the Stunt Arena and the Syria Pavilion, and the advice is to be near the Stunt Arena by 7.30pm to get a clear view before the 8pm start.
If you are driving, car parks P1 and P3 are about 400 metres from the gate. Diwali night is the headline evening of the five, so leave earlier than you would for a normal visit.
If Sunday does not work for you, do not worry about missing out entirely. The other four evenings each have their own Diwali focus, from Friday’s music to Monday’s Kids Corner, and the mela atmosphere runs right through the five days. Choose the night that suits your group best, and arrive close to opening if you want time to explore the pavilions before the evening’s main event.
Getting to Global Village
Global Village sits on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (E311) in Dubailand. You can drive, or take one of the RTA buses that serve the park: routes 102, 103, 104 and 106. The bus is a handy option on Sunday if you would rather avoid queuing for a parking space after the drone show.
