About this event

Ras Al Khaimah’s New Year’s Eve fireworks have become one of the biggest shows in the world, and the emirate is set to welcome 2027 with another midnight display over Al Marjan Island and Al Hamra Bay. With more than a dozen Guinness World Records titles from past editions, it is one of the most popular ways to see in the new year in the UAE.

What to expect

In recent years the main show has run for around 15 minutes at midnight, stretching for about six kilometres along the coast from Al Marjan Island to Al Hamra and combining fireworks with large drone formations. Ras Al Khaimah has also staged an earlier family-friendly display at around 8pm, along with a free New Year’s Eve festival with live entertainment, food trucks and activities for children. The full programme for 2026 to 2027 will be confirmed by the organisers closer to the date.

Where to watch

Public viewing areas along Al Marjan Island and Al Hamra are free, and the beach resorts on Al Marjan Island and Al Hamra host gala dinners and parties with fireworks views. Hotel packages sell out early, so book well in advance if you want to stay over. If you are driving from Dubai, allow plenty of extra time: roads are busy in the evening and some routes may close for the show.

Tips for the night

  • Arrive early to find parking and a good spot, and follow any vehicle registration instructions for official car parks.
  • Bring water, a light jacket and something to sit on.
  • Check the official Ras Al Khaimah New Year’s Eve website for timings, road closures and safety rules before you set off.
