Please Leave by 10 Halloween Edition brings a throwback Halloween party to Studio A in Dubai Harbour on Saturday evening, with DJ VLR playing 90s, 2000s and early 2010s pop, R&B and hip hop from 5pm until the lights come up at 10pm. The name is the concept: you get five solid hours on the dance floor and you are home at a sensible time.

The organisers are calling this their biggest and most unhinged Halloween edition yet, and the tagline sets the tone: your past is coming back to haunt you, with throwback anthems, costumes and Halloween surprises.

The idea behind Please Leave by 10

Please Leave by 10 is built for people who still love a proper dance but no longer want to start at midnight. Doors open at 5pm, the music runs straight through, and the night finishes at 10pm. That makes it an easy sell for anyone with a Sunday morning to protect, and for groups who would rather go out early than not at all.

The Halloween edition leans into 2000s nostalgia with a spooky twist. Instead of a generic monster theme, the brief is to come as a version of the past: your own, the culture’s, or the horror films you watched when you were far too young to be watching them.

DJ VLR and the soundtrack

DJ VLR is behind the decks for all five hours, playing pop, R&B and hip hop from the 90s through to the early 2010s. In practice that means the songs you know every word to, from school discos and early nights out, played to a room that wants to sing them back.

The organisers have also promised familiar faces from the past as special guests, without naming them, plus Halloween surprises they have chosen not to explain in advance.

Costume ideas from the organisers

Costumes are encouraged, and the organisers have offered a list of prompts that fit the throwback theme:

• Your former self
• A 2000s pop culture icon
• An emo kid
• A fashion icon, or a fashion mistake
• Your biggest millennial fear
• A character from a 90s or 2000s horror film

If you do not want to commit to a full outfit, Bling Charmars (@wear_blings.ae) will be on site with more than ten spooky and sparkly makeup looks suitable for guests of any gender. Makeup is an optional add-on and is not included in your ticket, so you can decide on the night.

There are two costume rules to keep in mind. Sharp objects are not allowed, including as part of a costume or as a prop, so leave prop knives, scythes and pitchforks at home. And for this event, the venue does not permit entry in traditional or religious attire.

Tickets, tables and house rules

• What is included: every ticket covers party entry and one drink of your choice.
• Age: the party is strictly 21+.
• Tables: to reserve one, call the venue reservations team on 050 443 0933, daily between 11am and midnight, and mention Please Leave by 10. Everyone else is first come, first served.
• Drugs: strictly prohibited.
• Photography: guests may be photographed or filmed for promotional use; you can opt out of published material by emailing the organiser.
• Pregnancy: the organisers note the event is not specifically suitable for pregnant guests, who attend at their own discretion.

Getting to Studio A, Dubai Harbour

Studio A is in Dubai Harbour, the waterfront district beside Dubai Marina and JBR. By car, head southwest on Sheikh Zayed Road (E11) and take the exit towards Al Naseem Street (D94 W). Follow the ramp and the road, take the first exit at the roundabout, turn left twice, and the venue is on your right. The organisers strongly recommend using GPS.

Taxis and ride-hailing apps are the simpler choice, particularly if you plan to have more than the included drink. And with the party finishing at 10pm, getting a car home is far easier than it would be in the small hours.
