Free places to watch the fireworks
Dubai’s public fireworks are usually held at the Burj Khalifa, along the beach at JBR and Bluewaters, at Atlantis The Palm, near the Burj Al Arab and at Global Village. The viewing areas around Downtown Dubai are free but fill up many hours before midnight, and roads close from the early evening, so go early and take the Metro.
How to keep the cost down
- Compare what is included: a cheap entry ticket with no drinks can cost more on the night than an all-inclusive package.
- Look beyond Downtown Dubai, where a Burj Khalifa view adds a premium.
- Book early, as many venues raise prices in December.
- Take the Metro instead of a taxi, as fares surge after midnight.
